I forgotten how i digging out the movie. Perhaps from the IMDB250 film.
http://imdb.com/title/tt0449059/

This movie have the ordinary directing but extraordinary scenes around the family members.

We got a 'Dad' strongly believed his 9 steps to be life-winner.

We got a 'grandpa' is a heroin addict & hardcore porno fan.

We got an 'Uncle' possess the highly-achievement in education life who suicide due to life breakdown in homo love.

We got a "kid" swear not to speak only after break into the flying academy. And he neva spoke a word for 9 months as a proof of his destination.

Lastly, the little fat tummy cute Gal got the wild dream to become Miss Sunshine of California.

(The mom got no outstanding characteristic in my view)

Sorta like Family movie, warmness, crazy(not over-react) & funny. Perhaps a "softcore" version for 'Magnolia' person. (I not sure it would suggested as family+kids material. It involved a little extreme content.)

It's unique & carry out a few surprises. wink.gif

i can say the storyline quite good, real life based, family conflicts, i think maybe some issue in the story is quite sensitive to be open in public cinema... laugh.gif

Not as close as American beauty. AB is too darkly, artsy & depressive.

This one got more sunshine & straightforward. The story twisted goes on & on & doesn't intend to bored audience.

This movie was good. Watched it a abt 2 weeks agon, 2 bad it was not released in the theater's here. Loved the plot abt this dysfunctional family who tries to do a weekend outing to send the daughter in the family for a beauty pageant. Some moments caused me to LOL and i thought the acting was good and each actor played their characters well.

Not really sure it can be release here. Well, Babel is more aggressive content, rite?

Ooh..i tot the beauty contest's music suppose to be Mc Hammer music?nope..

Weeks ago, i was listening to Sufjan Stevens. i fell in love wif one of the song immediately. It's called "Chicago" . It is featuring in this movie as music tunes.

Whenever i listen to Sufjan. It reminds me of this Little Miss Sunshine family.

i almost overlooked 24 action series "Chloe" as the backstage staff. My sis told me dat..haha.
The last stage of 'group' performance is a tease to all the kids contest happends on today.

kids are suppose to show off their innocent & nature side inside of them instead of make over and play like a mature lady.

This movie is dedicated to the misery little Miss who was homicided years ago, rite?

In a sense yes if you think that the little girl is the person who binds the "mismatch" family around

I like this movie alot. I really felt real you know, like watching a real family in action. Everyone in the movie had a character and they lived up to it.
A real dark and subtle comedy. Loved the ending, it was hilarious thumbup.gif

LOL.
I was kinda expecting you to pop up and say "average" when i first saw this thread.
But it doesn't matters as i think everyone have their preference.
Even best movie like The GodFather and Matrix was criticize and why this one should be spare.

Anyway I think everyone should give it a try and judge it yourself.

i dun think Little Miss Sunshine will be much enjoyable for second watching. We oredi know all the surprises.

The story appears right in front of u. Unless the first time u doesn't pay good attention.

Btw, anyone know this two movies which are quite extreme content -"Happiness" & "Bad Santa".

They are falling into this kind of Family wacko category. Guys should try on them. Quite rare to see such kind of suppose to be warmness tittle but deliver "f@@cked up" moment.

Will u get "second excitement" when u watch a movie when oredi know the next results?
First impression is always better than 2nd times... U r a movie fanatic. U knw what i am tryin to bring out the points.

Titanic is pretty good to watch once a while for its action wif romance.

Sixth sense, u will watch twice to study 'again' the Bruce Willis movement. It is not directive-type of movie.

btw, the examples u brought up is not falling in this type of movie category.

Not necessarily. Sometimes it is much easier to enjoy a movie when watching for the second time simply because you already know what to expect ... so you wont be disappointed. biggrin.gif

And as you said, studying the film is one more thing. Of course some movies are not worth scrutinizing at all eg. Night at the Museum and Borat, but LMS I'm not sure, which is why I said I must watch it a second time. brows.gif

to dingdong, u are implying shock factor. but that is not what we watch it for. which is why i dont mind reading spoilers. time and time again, we dont watch movies just because to see its ending.

in that case, why watch harry potter movie 1-6?
why watch LOTR
why watch titanic when u know boat sink

kobe,
Will u force urself to watch a film u dun like or couldn't cherish its effort?

The answer u will given will answer to the question of "WTF moment" dat u mentioned b4.

i was not stressing on shock factor. I am caring bout First Impression of a movie. Watching again is another matter.

Little Miss Sunshine movie is a simple movie. it's like magic, once u know the secret it doesn't satisfy ur curiosity anymore.

If re-watch for fun, why not? if re-watch to take back the First impression. I afraid it is not goin to work 100%. Unless u oredi forgot bout the movie.

its a low cost movie, the casts are not all popular but this movie totally rocks.

its a type of movie you really cant predict the next result. its just full of surprises and surprises that keep you entertained. And all the actors and actresses did an amazing job. All of it, even the lil girl. that family seriously the most unfortunate that i've seen, not to mention that all of em were losers. however, the ending is a job well done.

this movie i give 8/10.

i believe i make my point clear

if u want me to give a 8.5/10, i would.
