iccc..4600 for the concertino, somehow i like the sound of a floorstander more..so in future when i hav the budget, i will try the domus concerto..if budget permits, mebbe a domus grand piano..that would be my dream speaker...make one in teak please smile.gif wub.gif

thinking about it, going around auditioning different speakers n setups r really quite enjoyable..its a good learning process also when i listen to what different dealer says..i hope my rti a7 will improve more as the hours pile in thumbup.gif

Sonus Faber is speaker for mids. when the music gets heavy, sonus knows its limit and your ear will start to search for that parts that is missing.

I begin to wonder on my setup (B&W 602 dynamic, clear and deep) , that on one hand i like the rock and roll but the mid and vocal are gone. if you listen to ProAC, Sonus, Opera, they give you hear tons of it. I begin to think is it my amp giving me the problem, which supposedly tube amp (soundstage 1.5) should give me good vocals. then I was told B&W 602 and Soundstage does not match..... sad.gif.

So i have a problem, and hope to hear your comments. Of course, i will bring my amp and speaker cable to test out at (hi way laser ?)

I have also auditioned the amp like Creek (RM 2400) and Exposure (RM 2600), which sounds more promising than my soundstage amp. however being british amp, u have to follow the british rules. clarity, at the expense of soundstaging. agree ? lets comment.

another amp i auditioned is chinese made Xindak. start with A100 then X6800 (Class A) and then X6950 (Class A).  When I start with A100, i was like ok loh. Then X6800 is wow and then X6950 is like wow wow. When you switch amp to a higher class, it seems the speaker soundstaging just open even wider, making the speaker worth the value of a higher class. Being class A amp, I have not actually follow thru the rule to let the unit warm up, and typically takes 15 minutes or so. so I wonder if Chinese would ever make it to the world hifi amp arena. (remember Cayin, now the other chinese amp famous and won praise is AD86N)

well that's is because creek is not powerful enough to drive sonus. and B&W is easier to drive.
that's all i can say. and if you said amati has good sound. then you shouldn't make the statement "sonus faber is for mid speaker. when it comes to rock it will lack of somethings". it's matter of you can pay the price or not. if you can pay the price. they will be hell good.
u make your statement that sonus faber is not as good just based on one model? which might not even well driven. creek is a big no no to vocal heavy speaker like epos and sonus faber. i have one creek on my hand now send in to solder some loosen part.
it's better that you claim that sonus faber specific model under wat wat amp is not as good as B&W601 at this range.
i can't take one hyundai matrix and compare it to perdana. and saying "hell this luar negara car not even as good as our proton.."

Pcwork, I don't know SF Concertino Domus is so difficult to drive well. May i know which amp are you using now?? Please share some experience to us. Thanks! smile.gif

For my opinion 602 not quite the hi end detail of the SF.

The remote control is a OneForAll universal remote. Looks really cool at night with its blue backlighting.

Yeah, totally agree with you about the speaker. I would consider that the amplification deserves better but times are bad so I have to go for this "poor man's Micro Utopia". But having said that, the Usher is not a bad speaker and is probably equivalent to something higher priced from UK or US.

The granite slab under the power amp has wooden cones, and the granite slab under the CDP has Vibrapods.

Are you using the famous usher BE 718? I love this bookshelf speaker very much in av show 2008, far much better than primare + proac d2 which more expensive. May I ask where to get granite slab.
