Cool setup! Garyfirex, you must enjoy your audio system very much. Btw, what are those 'spikes' above speaker?

Here's mine setup. See my signature below for components.

Nowadays, I listen to music ripped from CDs into FLAC, WMA (>800 kbps VBR) format via wi-fi network music player - Slim Devices Squeezebox 3.

Sometimes, I am using iPod Touch as remote control to select my ripped songs from my music server (external HDD). icon_idea.gif

hi pcwork , ur setup is also cool man ! hand made in italy...initially im seriously thinking about sonus faber speaker too but bcoz this is my very 1st setup, i hav to get all the components at the same time so i dun hav the budget to go for sonus speakers..i guess in the future when my speakers needed an upgrade, i will go for sonus faber..i like the domus concerto n the cremona auditor...haha in the cremona range the auditor is all i can afford i guess..smile.gif

the spike u see on top of the speaker is actually a floor lamp behind the speaker..how long u bought ur concertino? fully runned in yet? mine hav just around 2 hours..but the sound is already very good for my taste.. rclxm9.gif

I see, it's floor lamp, thought you have wireless antenna installed for wireless music. smile.gif

I have bought SF concertino domus for half a year (my serial number is 2061 compared to pcwork's 2876), more than 200 hr running in, the sound is superbly clean, clarity, i can hear different instruments played in Jazz from different position, nearly symphony as well (depend on recording quality), i don't find as if i have speaker installed. brows.gif . In fact, I have got consultation and advice from the R&D designer of SF, Dr. Paolo Tezzon on speaker placement, with some trial-error toe-in.

But, the most important is to enjoy music and not too much of components, when time comes, then only upgrade to another level.

Cheers.

Guys, where did you buy your Concertinos? Do they have other models? Concerto?

Bought SF Concertino Domus from Perfect HiFi.

Yes, besides Domus series, they do have carry Cremona series. Also they do carry Concerto Domus, floor standing speaker.

iccc..4600 for the concertino, somehow i like the sound of a floorstander more..so in future when i hav the budget, i will try the domus concerto..if budget permits, mebbe a domus grand piano..that would be my dream speaker...make one in teak please smile.gif wub.gif

thinking about it, going around auditioning different speakers n setups r really quite enjoyable..its a good learning process also when i listen to what different dealer says..i hope my rti a7 will improve more as the hours pile in thumbup.gif

You are absolutely right, your ears are the best tool to distinguish your best sound system based on your taste, it's subjective. No one is right or wrong.

Floor standing or bookshelf speakers really depend on your room dimension, setting out.

As my room is small, bookshelf speaker is adequate, otherwise, it's too boomy bass.

Cheers.

yes...room size is a big factor when choosing the type of speaker whether monitor or floorstander...i put my system at the living room so went for floorstander...

hows the service at perfect hifi? i never went there b4...if i went there i guess i might blow my budget way out of the window smile.gif from what i see at their website, its all very high end stuff there, goldmund, lexicon, audio research.. sweat.gif

I find them ok, especially Alvin, he is a nice, patient gentleman, I have auditioned few times before finally made up my mind. Perhaps, pcwork can add more as he is very close to Alvin, pass over to you, pcwork. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi pcwork and all, my current 50W cambridge audio integrated amp able to drive SF concertino domus, what's your opinion if a higher wattage such as 80W integrated amp connected to the speaker? Will the sound stage wider? hmm.gif

Looking for Krell KAV-400xi integrated amp, but some reviews said it would get really hot when running for long hour. Have you come across Krell?

Was the centre speakers temporary? It seems block your LCD TV. IMO, the subwoofer should be on the floor.

today try with Single Crystal copper cable. This blue snake is a real shocker.

Single crystal means continuous copper, almost without grains.

Power cable? How much? Where can get it?

Hi amco,

I've seen your Slim Devices (now known as Logitech) Transporter and Squeezebox V3. Wow, you are this first Malaysian to own Slim Devices Transporter, how's the performance? Please mind to share your experience. Are you active in Slim Devices forum or Hifi4sale forum?

Also, i have posted few topics here and hifi4sale forum on Network Media Player (Logitech, Sonos, Linn, etc.)

Here's one of the link in hifi4sale.net, perhaps, you can give your feedback in the thread to share with all forumers.
