QUOTE(likabaws @ Dec 3 2016, 06:23 PM) EVA keycaps? can give link? Most probably within 2 weeks. Shipping is around 1 week for taobao, less than 1 week if your're lucky. I bought a few times. For the direct shipping. they guarantee the shipping time of 5 days once the item reaches Taobao's warehouse. But it all depends on the seller's courier. It can take days or even weeks for the item to reach Taobao's warehouse. |

For those interested, please join. Will not re-run the groupbuy for V2. Join now, regret later. https://www.storeuni.com/collections/mymkb/...on-switches-smd RM 0.70 per switch, SMD latest type, 3 legs. Good for those want to buy and make switch tester, or mod their keyboard. Wanted to get the Browns. They're indeeed smoother but kinda less tactile than Cherry Browns. Wish they have something like a Cherry Clear. |

QUOTE(LEVIATHAN @ Jan 14 2017, 10:48 AM) No I meant Topre and HHKB. Filco is awesome if you don't need blings.Though I do have Filco's key puller. Can't comment on their keyboards—I have no experience with any of them. I heard they are quite good. No idea where to get them sorry. Edit: I like WASD offerings. Their CODE keyboards are nice I think. Then I saw V2 with options to customize those keys. But then I started to read about doubleshot PBT, then I read about switches... I think it's a very vicious cycles. Well, I just don't have the $$$ to go through that cycles. |

QUOTE(horns @ Mar 4 2018, 09:52 PM) there should be a few others, but this feature is kind of lost in time because less people are using it these days. alternatively, you can just remap a key for this on any keyboard with autohotkey. QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Mar 4 2018, 10:04 PM) Only older boards have that.. Filco, Leopold, and ikbc. yeah man. luckily i'm still having 2 of my filcos (Filcos are really rare these days with the uprising of RGBs) and also my leopold fc900r.Now most keyboards using FN, and as you know, you can't map FN. Very sad. Unlike MENU, you can actually remap the key to something else. Last time i map right row 1.25 to arrows. its a friend who wanted a board with context menu key. too bad he can't find any filcos with brown around right now. |

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Mar 5 2018, 10:48 AM) Inter ASIA distri stopped bring in Filco due to higher price in exchange rate. sad. viva la filco. No more filco actually in M'sia. anyway. my friend forced to settle with K66/K70 instead for the context menu key. btw. may i know any inputs for masterkeys pbt? how's frame build btw? like ducky one has shit frame (feels a bit flimsy to me) compare to filco and leopold. i've read someone reddit mentioned that the frame for masterkeys pbt around the bottom row flex a little. |

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Mar 5 2018, 11:54 AM) The MasterKeys PBT is manufactured by Costar, the same manufacturer that Filco using. So, the board is using costar stabilizer, and costar keycaps (white font printed on top), but this time is thick PBT. sounds good!Whole keyboard is made in Taiwan, and the PCB is double layer with machine soldered. I consider it as another Filco and use it. No gimmicks, all quality! The board come with 2 years warranty, although the warranty is totally not relevant for such high quality board. I don't feel the bottom row is flex actually. Not sure how the flex looks like. oh well. pulled the trigger. |

QUOTE(horns @ Mar 5 2018, 02:29 PM) filco boards are too 'low profile'. at first glance, they're really nothing special. only those who use it before know its true values. nah its not a dealbreaker. i just wanna tug the cables snugly to protect the port and the cable. uh? i didn't realize that you need this. well, i hope it's not a big deal to your friend. I wonder how good are the caps compare to something like enjoypbt though. too bad it's not dyesub. can't ask for too much for that price though. btw. anyone has extensive experience with varmilo dyesub caps? thinking to pick up a set. seems like DSA and GMK are all the rage right now. QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Mar 5 2018, 02:51 PM) The thickness of the keycaps win. Only that part is great. The printed font will faded after long term use, just like Filco. HAHAHAHA. I already got 3 brown board. Bought it with blues. If it's not deal breaker, I would like to let you know, Malaysia only have Blue and Red switch. No BROWN. Give me few hours, I will snap you the photo the font after long period of using (half year of abuse). I dont really like blues personally, but it's fun to annoy my colleagues once in a while. Viva la Brown. |

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Mar 5 2018, 03:57 PM) Cleaning the keycaps right now with the dental tablet. Well, too disgusting to show the public. It's almost 30-40% off Filco with extra features, I wouldn't mind too much if it lacks a bit build quality. Anyway, costar stabs is the main selling point to me But, although the board is made by Costar, please do not have extra expectation that the board will same like Filco. Such a long time, we finally see another Made In Taiwan keyboard from CM. Most of their keyboard are made in China (not because china is cheaper, but they have few manufacturer that in China). However, if Varmilo makes Leopold's keycaps. then it could be an issue here. I've no idea why my leopold keycaps makes costar stabs mushy. QUOTE(horns @ Mar 5 2018, 04:05 PM) ok haha Yeah. I have a set of enjoypbt too. the best set I have to date. no money to invest in a set of GMK yet. i stumbled across Akko on Taobao as well. Looks decent and priced similar as Varmilo. I'm thinking which set to get. Maybe both?i have enjoypbt blanks. i just don't have cm pbt caps to compare to lol (but i think cm's pbt caps are decent enough; you can make them blanks if you rajin typing lol) i have varmilo caps also. (dye-subbed and side-printed) design wise, they are not as best looking as gmk's, but they're still my favorites. (pbt with good thickness; cherry/step sculpture 2 profile) unlike enjoypbt caps, which are soft and smooth, the textures of varmilo caps are different depending on color, e.g. black/yellow/red are relatively smooth, but blue/white/grey are slightly rough. for dsa profile i always need adjustments when i use it (nice looking, but my typing experience with it is not as good as cherry profile) edit: a note on gk64 rgb pcb - if you got stuck with its firmware 1.7, downloaded via built-in updater in GK6XPlus Driver 5.0.0.21, and the software keep throwing application failure messages at you when applying custom settings, update the firmware to 1.16. the offline firmware updater can be requested from the official QQ group of GK6x devs. kbdfans' 5-degree build comes with firmware 1.16. my older prebuilt gk64 (and spare pcbs) are not. they are all fixed now. with firmware 1.16, the shortcut to turn lighting off is fn + backspace now. the rest is still the same. you can refer to the manual available at http://www.pc-100.com/downloads-mechanical-keyboard/ (basically they are just rebranded gk64; DO NOT use their repackaged software. use the latest one from http://www.jikedingzhi.com/downloadlist) This post has been edited by zorbyss.: Mar 6 2018, 10:28 AM |
