Bro, looking at your siggie make me wonder... is the 980ti upgrade worthwhile? I have the same setup available to me wink.gif
*
sweet smile.gif

it depends bro, mainly based on your current gpu, screen resolution that you're playing with, gpu settings in game, type of games, and price for that 980ti.

i think getting 1080ti is the better option if you played a lot of various titles. for instance, it's still good for bf4 at 1440p over 120+ fps, custom gpu settings; but for bf1 it's better go for 1080ti at least for similar user experience.

i am waiting for the next one. while waiting i play mkbs lol

edit: this one is a damn good deal, https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4386624

Tecware not even keyboard company.  sad.gif

It's a copy product of the damn china copy product (which cost less than RM 100 with better features, and lighting).
Copy-ception. "I rather buy the china board rather than goddamn china copy. At least china ppl won't laugh at me.  laugh.gif "

oh; it's like counterfeit money. (it's better than that because it has higher monetary value :/)

full-sized. bo ngam. i think they should offer more options for the switches, like cherry-mx silent red/black, instead of just kaihua brown.

*
oh you test dy then please share with us honest reviews biggrin.gif

imo good boards must have the least wobbling effects for modifiers and space bar. (if you also rajin lube mkb parts, they will be almost perfect) try use a filco or varmilo daily. if you use these two as reference, you will find a lot of pre-built boards bo steady one.

black switch MKB rare in market boh
*
it's one of the 4 common cherry-mx switches (blue, brown, black, and red). wait which black sin? cherry-mx or clones? some clones many people said holiao. i am noob so i don't know. i tested silent red/pink dy; i like it a lot also; so i think silent black is holiao also.

mechanical switches are the most important component in a mkb, because different switches have different characteristics. additionally, different combos of switches, key caps, case materials, and mods make typing feels and sound become different. that's why even with the same switches, mkbs produced by different manufacturers also feel different. don't believe me, try them out then you will get it.

the more expensive switches is topre. this one has very different feels from cherry-mx style switches. (some said it's like rubber dome boards; but to me it feels more than that) for typing this one is really steady.

see? i use the word, 'different' a lot. that's what makes mkbs a fun hobby (and a potential cause for malnutrition, because got money buy boards, but no money buy food) to everyone, who has own unique tastes and expectations.

blue is clicky and tactile, brown is tactile, black and red are linear. (registered already also don't know that kind)

it's about personal preference lah.

Black switch actually very low demand in the market because heavier. As long as people want, market will have.
*
personally i think heavier switches are better for typing. it feels more 'solid' to type on; even better if it comes with tactile feedback.

after trying to lube stabilizers and very few switches (i have no good lube so i hentam singer machinery oil), now i know why people can spend some much of their previous time doing just that. lagi song!

Lubing is just to get the feel right? Of used for a few years without lubing, the mechbkb also wun rosak right?
*
i mean i don't know typing feels can be improved this much, just by lubricating these parts (although the process is very time-consuming to me); and no i don't think you need to lubricate yours if you don't want to, mkbs will still be ok.

er maybe i oversimplified things by directing everyone into getting the idea of mkb is mainly about feelings. (although my conclusions are somewhat related to that) no to me it's not just about that. don't forget about their other advantages against membrane boards:
1. lasting. this is especially true for good boards. from internals like pcb and switches, it extends to maintained consistency of typing feels even after a good many years of use.
2. repairable. if it has dead keys, just replace those and move on. if it has scratchy switches, lube it and move on. there is no need to throw it away. (basic skills like soldering are required, but it's not hard to learn at all)
3. flexible. this is about customization. almost everything can be customized according to your needs (and budget). it's not that boring anymore for a keyboard.
4. rich form factors. 40%, 60%, 75%, tkl, full-sized, etc. there are choices to meet everyone's unique preferences.

fuhlen big boss already collaborate with cherry.  sweat.gif

from what i have read previously fuhlen claimed to use germany designs or something in their products. (that brand is a german word anyway)

since they know germans then collaboration with cherry is kind of imminent.

That's probably is the design of Cherry MX 6.0.

I saw a picture between cherry big boss (ceo) and fuhlen big bosses. Money deal.  rclxm9.gif
*
yeah; further diggings made me think they already have a long-term collaborative relationship with one of the subsidiaries. cherry ceo gave fuhlen big boss 2x golden cherry mx 6.0 boards during 20-year anniversary ceremony of that subsidiary company haha

the more important thing is that they can produce something that benefit us as consumers. btw there is an official notice about copycats of fuhlen products in their official website haha

edit: damn these companies are so huge :/ digging more can only tell how small we are :///

that is new to me. woww.

but yeah, most important is the collab will bring something that benefit us as customers.

China or not, if it is durable and tahan lama enuff. yeah i oso will buy.
and so far out of all China boards, i like Fuhlen. coz RGB. haha
if add cherry switch. walao, osem summore. but price oso will increase.
*
yes. that's the least us consumers can hope for. however we consumers also need to do something about it. (at the end of the day, we are still the ones who buy these)

china brands have issues is mainly due to copycats that ignore a lot of quality details. this happens everywhere; it's just more obvious in china manufacturing, because they are the center of world's manufacturing. their genuine parts with good qualities are relatively cheap. however copycats can make things even more cheaper, can deliver products to market even more quickly, so they can be one of the first to be consumed by us consumers. (no need expensive r&d, no need proper and lengthy qc processes; just plain production) this creates some bad side effects against their genuine local brands, including consumers' general stereotype against china brands, after all these years of exposure to bad products.

I agree.
Yes not all china stuff no quality. Some of them are good.
Me myself bought stuff from taobao n can say they are good stuff.

But just those copycats making the general stereotypes against china brands.
As for fuhlen, i need to wait few more yrs to hear complains. As of know, my frens who bought it are happy. No complaints.
*
yes hopefully we can have our answers a few years later (let's hope your friends don't change to even better boards during those years lol)

these days branded also lousy already.

Better buy cheaper replace more often. RM500+ keyboard I refuse to buy those. It is not like they come with 10yr warranty.

That money I can buy 2 good quality China brand already. I think not ridiculous to expect these China brand last half as long as branded one. (thats really low expectation!)
*
this is very true. imo for those brands, especially gaming boards with those high price tags, i hope they can offer more.

these days we can get pretty good pre-built boards below myr500 already. (all come with genuine cherry mx switches)
