tm a money sucker, take our money for minum tuak only, never maintain their service, I complaint them about the high latency on local port, they said only supply base on 'best effort basis' means I give your connection, good or bad is your luck, not my fault. Here is the reply letter:-

With regards to Streamyx connection issue, we would like to convey our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. Upon checking your connection speed, which you received around 800-900Kbps, we would like to clarify that the Streamyx service provided is based on 'best effort' basis. This is stipulated in the terms and conditions that is stated in the Streamyx application form, our brochures and also on our website (www.tm.net.my).

A 'best effort' service means that we are unable to offer any throughput guarantees or a 100% of the subscribed speed. However, at TM Net, we consistently strive to do our best to provide our customers with the fastest connection within the allowance of their set-up or individual conditions.

We would like to assure you that TM Net is doing our best to comply within the 'best-effort' benchmark of 70 % throughput.

We wish to inform you that actual connection speeds are also dependant on various factors. The different parts of the Internet network do contribute to your overall online experience, such as your computer?s hardware specifications and performance, modem, internal telephone cabling, local loop, Point-of-Presence (PoP), Internet traffic, international connectivity, etc.

QUOTE(lucifah @ Feb 11 2007, 07:05 AM)
u guys who never get to use the internet during the 14.4k boom surely never appreciates streamyx

i dun give a damn if i get what i get when i pay rm66 per month

coz before this, i have to pay like rm 200+ for a 56k that s used heavily

my torrent speed is acceptable, http speed is ok. what do i have to complain?

disclaimer: I AM NOT AN AFFILIATE OF TMNET NOR HAS I BEEN PAID TO PUT OUT COMMENTS SUCH AS THIS. I HAVE USED INTERNET SINCE I WAS IN FORM 3 (1996) ON A 14.4K US ROBOTIC MODEM WHICH SOMEONE CHARGED RM 3 / 15 MIN. STREAMYX USER SINCE 2003
*
No offend but I am also a 56K user before, nope, a 33.6K user tongue.gif I never learn the term BT until I get ADSL, in fact, I still keep the Jaring a/c. Even now I using ADSL, i seldom use BT anyway.
When the service first started, the connection is good, but now, they just keep add in more user without limiting the port usage until it is overload mad.gif
I didn't ask for more, just don't d/c or high latency up to 800+ms. To be honest, until now, Jaring dialup gives me 400ms for online gaming even running smoother than streamyx 1mpbs doh.gif

er....one question here, why not one even complain about Jaring Broadband? because no one is using or it is too good that no one is complaining

I am tired of calling 1-300-88-9515 every month and thought of switching band
