yup, this usually happens before a long holiday. like the whole support team go holiday.

seems the DNS 202.188.0.133 went berserk. at least 202.188.1.5 wasnt the case but after sometime that too went berserk.

so emailed custcare tmnet on saturday, only today(wednesday) got the response with apology + flushDNS stuff around 8am plus. that's when my line went back to normal speed (1MB package range speed). it's like they just got back from holiday and just reboot some router thing and then act all seems fine.

alternate DNS you can try when emergency: http://forum.portforward.com/YaBB.cgi?boar...;num=1115416655

sent email yesterday, i wonder wat they will say this time since they responded my last saturday email only on wednesday when connection was back to ok. i bet when connection ok, then i will get the responded email with those flushdns excuses.

"TM Bhd and 16 other telecommunications carriers, mostly based in South-East Asia, have signed an agreement to build a US$500mil (RM1.75bil) undersea fibre-optic cable linking the region to the United States."

i hope they dont screw up like current connection situation.

Heh guys, i heard from other ppl say that those 512kb streamyx user will to become 1mb and need to pay rm 88 for their fees ....

Is it true ?
*
hmm... if by force i dont see it anywhere but its part of current promo to pay rm77 for first 3months i think. then after that onwards pay rm88. i think they try promote the 2Mbps and coming soon 4Mbps. currently for 2Mbps home package from their site, its RM188

at one point forgot which shopping malls, got one streamyx promoter even ask to stopped my current 1Mbps package n apply new with them the 1Mbps with goodies.. goodness.. that desperate to increase percentage one doh.gif

for BT, it would be very slow. but for normal surfing, this is wat gather so far. ahem ahem... based on speedometer, in early mornings its above 800Kbits, afternoon to late evenings, bout 600Kbits, late nites till wee mornings bout 600 to 800Kbits.

so the line aint stable but b4 this (b4 last monday), it was down to 70to 200Kbits and at times no connection at all.

nowadays when i complain to streamyx hotline, it was the telekom techs who attend to me. one even came to my house without making an appointment with me & check my comps, modem and says everything is fine and that his equipment registered 1MB. when i got home, it wasnt fine and it was below 200Kbits and sometimes even below 70Kbits. i was amazed by his checkings.

quick...start calling streamyx hotline and even email them till you become pain in the ass that they have no choice by to entertain. coz their report if too much can have monthly performance report.

right now if all complain via forums, they will just look at this forum and smile then move on wishing nobody would bother calling them.

now i have two filed case and seem to get calls every now and then asking for status but unfortunately they called home phone during office hours which is weird coz they can easily call my hp which i gave many times when filling the cases.

speedometer reports consistently at 400Kbits after 4tries. the fifth just hang. sighs. yesterday was ok, the day before was 800Kbits. only enjoyed in 2days in total.

something is definitely wrong with TMNet, either that they try to merge with TM since the tech ppl who attend to me was from TM.

yup, i got those cut and paste replies. then you try calling their hotline every now and then to report, they will take note of it and will get in touch wit you within 3days time. once their first level and you still not satisfied, then only they file a proper report n you will be given a report number. then only from then on your calls wit the report number get better layan. usually by second level tech. which if still not satisfied, your case file get assigned a TM technician and from time to time get calls to find out status until the case is close.

mine already since 29th april. i think it happen even b4 just didnt notice, thats why my ping when playing BF2142 was so bad, less than 5servers thats less than 250ping.

right now, the line still not satisfactory and its on and off, plus speed as well. so i didnt give my consent to close the case file.

hmmm... i wonder as i wander wat could be the bottleneck other than Throttling, izzit a program flaw or hardware cannot handle load... hmmm.

im in melawati, if dont mind where else you guys are, maybe i can report to include those location affected as well.

i manage to record the speedometer every now and then. it would seem that during peak hours, the traffic is bad but during non peak hours like 4am, its ok.

so it seems either of these are factors:
1. throttling s/w causing the slowdown or flaw in its program itself
2. exchange servers cant handle high volumes
3. cables are rotting.

somehow there's a que that all must be into in order to get into the fast bandwidth (first come first serve) and it didnt last long either.

at one point tried speedometer it was 400Kbits (suppose to be >800Kbits) , then turn off modem, turn on again it was below 100Kbits, tot something wrong with modem, then tried the same scenario for other days, it happens again. notice also that the Kbits goes up and down whenever nearing peak hours and after peak hours.

ping default gateway and dns server its below 10ms. only manage to get >800Kbits between 4am to 11am..sighs.

everytime when i connect to streamyx,i try to get  the ip 218.111.xxx because i find that it gives me the best speed..a few days ago i find that my torrents are connecting to the peers very slowly...usually it will only connect to at least 20 peers in a minute..but now it's only connecting to 2-3 peers no matter how long i leave it on..so i tried to change my ip address to 60.50.xxx and guess wat..now my torrents are connecting to the peers as fast as usual..i wonder wat's going on:s
*
how do you get to change IP address? and yeah certain IPs will give you fast access and it depends which package is using it. even for enterprise(companies), they use a different gateway IP altogether and its super fast even at 1MB. home user has different gateway IP and thats the one kena throttling, security, firewall, etc.

if you not sure that they are knowledgable since you say they stupid, why not just call 100 for address enquiry or even go to their HQ. not mistaken TMNet now under TM hor... parent company. or even googling i get http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TM_Net

usually 1st level tech support is just following procedure even you have done before. procedure meaning.. flushdns, etc. then only they file a formal report and you will be given report no. No matter how much you complain, its like talking to brick wall, they are trained for that, so might as well follow the procedures.

then 2nd level tech support will try call you during the 1 week to find out if ur problem persist. within 5days if you do not complain by calling, they will consider ur case close and report no expired. i learned this from previous "alot of patience though very little" encounter.
