Complained to carsome. They called and apologized saying its system error. Im really speechless
*
Aiseh. What a pity.
Tookar giving 4.8k now.
I'm also looking to change to a Civic TC-P

Don't forget 1st year depreciation is about 15%. So getting a RM6.5K cash discount is still far from worth it for a 1 yr old car.
*
Yeah. I'm looking for 2017 car.
Anyone know which batch the Civic is at now? I noticed that the hood misaligned defect reported on social media is not there on the cars I've seen on the road so far. I'm hoping this was a first batch thing and that it's been fixed.

Also, how's the seats? I'm about 180cm in height with broad shoulders. The seats look like they may be a bit small although I didn't notice them being uncomfortable in the very short period I was in the car.

Tookar is giving 5.2k discount for Tc-p, has anyone grabbed the offer yet? Already submitted the confirmation form and waiting for the SA to contact me. Just wondering is there any catch in this kind of deal?
*
I just submitted too for TC-P. Let's see how it goes.

Hey guys, any recommendation for wheel lock? I read somewhere that Honda has their own custom made locks but I can't find it anymore.

I booked last week. 5.4k discount. I'm happy with the discount given and the way the SA handled the sale.

Yeah, I know its not wrong for him to not giving discounts.
I even tried nego nicely, if no discounts fine la, i dont mind. But then he starts saying if want go find other dealer, go la, he will cancel the loan also. Hahaha ugut wor

If you're not happy with the SA, just go to another one. Whatever they're chasing, we as consumers have the right to choose too.
I've been to so many Honda showrooms before this, since the car was launched in Malaysia, and all of them were rubbish....so arrogant like I owe them money or something...until someone introduced the SA I just booked my car with. This chap was was polite, willing to accommodate my every question and didn't ever try to push to close the sale. We'll see if he maintains his good demeanor throughout the process and after.

The Civic X clearcoat seems very soft.  Be careful with polishing compounds or it will cause burn marks or unwanted swirls.  I'd go with an easy to use clay bar kit instead.  You can try Meguiars Quik Clay Kit instead of using polishing compounds.  Then coat it with wax or sealants after claying.

If the clear coat and paint is very soft, wouldn't it make sense to have some kind of coating applied? Just wondering which is better for both the car and my wallet in the long run....let's say next 5 years.

but i doubt coating can prevent scratches right? especially at the back of the door handles

If the original clear coat and paint is very soft then I'd say that a good coating will help reduce the possibility and severity of scratches occurring. Only gripe I have with coating is they usually don't last that long even though they cost a lot. Past experience for me, the coat was gone after 1 year or so and I was very careful to use good quality car wash, towels, etc.

So guys, I finally got my Black TC-P yesterday. Driven about 50km so far.
This is my observation based on personal experience.

Sales:
I've only had very bad experiences with Honda sales staff however the SA whom I got the car from was refreshingly different. I must give him a thumbs up. Even my very particular gf was impressed with the way he handled everything.

QC:
There is some room for improvement. I did notice the gap between the hood and fender on the driver's side is slightly smaller than the passenger side but the variation is so small that I'm not gonna bother asking for it to get fixed. I didn't even notice it until my SA pointed it out and told me it's within Honda's tolerance levels. Everything else is ok. Looks like the SA actually checked everything before delivering the car to me and ran through it all again with me at the Showroom. I hope it stays that way.

Driving Experience:
Pros:
1. This bugger is fast. I was on the highway on the way back and simply rested my right foot a little bit so I can overtake the car in front, next thing I know I was doing 120kmh. This is a huge difference when compared to my previous car, a Peugeot 408 2.0. Now I've got Econ mode on just to give me some time to adjust to the way this car drives. With Econ mode, the throttle response feels like my previous car.
2. The ride comfort is very impressive too. This car has a firmer suspension than my previous car and I was tightening up my muscles each time I approached a bump or rough road only to be pleasantly surprised at the way it absorbed everything. Really impressed.
3. Fuel economy is also pretty good so far. Need to continue driving for a bit to see the real figures.
4. It is spacious! I'm tall and I was pleasantly surprised when I sat in the back seat behind the driver's seat. There's even room for me to stretch my legs a bit.
5. The A/C is pretty good. Don't know why but it feels so much better than my previous ride, even in the back seat.

Cons:
1. Road noise is really bad. It's quiet at speeds below 60kmh but after that, you can hear the drone from the tires clearly. Wind noise is also quite bad. Is there any solution to this? This is the only real gripe I have.
2. The door opening is small and roof is low. My passengers kept struggling and bumping their head on the roof when getting in and out. Not complaining about this one. I got the car knowing this would be an issue.

Dear 1.5T owner,

U guys pump fuel ron97 / ron95?

Ron95 for all my cars past and present. 97 doesn't make any difference to me other than a big hole in the wallet.

Anyone can recommend lock nuts other than McGard? I'm OK with the price for McGard but just worried it'll be overkill. What if the lock nut gets damaged during an attempted theft. It's almost impossible to remove without drilling.

Ya i also notice that..after 6k tyre noise getting louder. When new is very quiet.. now a lot of front tyre noise. MC5 really  bangwall.gif

Thinking to do sound proofing on front wheel arch. if u notice there are sound proofing on rear wheel arch but not for front (just plastic).

Not sure can help to reduce tyre noise effectively or not. Need some feedback.
*
MC5 is like that. It'll just keep getting louder and wet performance will drop rapidly too. I changed my previous car tire to PS3 after a little incident which ripped the MC5 side walls and the noise levels significantly reduced and wet performance improved by a huge margin too. I'd imagine PS4 will be the same or better.

On the other hand, the Civic FC appears to be quite a noisy car at speed. What options do we have for minimally invasive sound proofing? I just don't like the idea of removing everything to install dampening materials.

Usually I bought my Civic accessories at Senawang. The owner has Civic FC and he knows what best for our Civic. His shop name is S PLUS AUTO ACC.  rclxms.gif
Even if you are using other brand also same. If the lock nuts get damaged, you also need to drill or force to open. But atleast you know your sport rim is safe because you are using wheel locks.  tongue.gif
*
With other nuts you can still use a socket wrench to forcibly open the nuts but McGard has a security mechanism to protect against that. As far as safety goes I'm truly impressed with McGard but I'm worried about the consequences of being overly protective.

How long does it take from booking time to physically receive the car?
