This is a brief introduction about the newest Gundam Trading Card Game (TCG) that has been introduced by Bandai. I will use the simple question to introduce this latest installment of TCG.
What is Gundam Cross War?
Gundam Cross Wars (GCW) is the latest installment of TCG from Bandai. They have a previous TCG which is called Gundam Nexa. Due to complicated gameplay (imho), Bandai decided to create another newer card game that is much simple to learn hope to gain some TCG pie in Japan. So far atm (imho), the biggest TCG in Japan is still Magic The Gathering followed by Yugioh and the others like Pokemon.

When Gundam Cross War introduced?
It was first launch in August 2015 and up to current they have launched 6 booster box and 3 starter pack. This week (25/11/16) they are going to launch another booster box worldwide in Japan and across Asia Pacific region (yes Australia included)

Why Gundam Cross War?
Now this is due on my humble opinion. I will list down the pros and cons on this GCW TCG that i still learning to play so far. I am playing Pokemon only atm and just want to list down some of the points that I see atm.
PROS
1) Is a new TCG, means that you can get some awesome card that is useful atm without much splurging too much money.
2) Currently there is only 1 language for this TCG (in term of physical card) means you can get it from Japan or other country without have to worry. If you play Pokemon TCG before you will understand.
3) It is simple to learn (was told it was almost similar to Magic The Gathering). The faction of each Gundam series are quite balance atm.
4) It is much cheaper compared to Pokemon (you will understand this as well if you play Pokemon TCG). Meta deck atm is not as expensive as meta deck in Pokemon TCG.
5) Booster launch usually around 3-4 per year unlike Vanguard (I don't play Vanguard, I was told that Vanguard has too many booster launch)
6) It is more tactical than Vanguard (again this is what I heard)
7) It has competition as well in Asia Pasific region. The first Championship for this year is gonna be at Singapore.
CONS
1) Barely new TCG so players are quite limited (compared to Singapore and Hong Kong)
2) Region locked card (I will explain later)
3) Single cards are hard to find atm due to limited player (means card circulation are slow and limited)
4) Tournament are not as frequent as Pokemon tournament (again due to same issue, less participant)
5) Lack of advertisement and shops that sell GCW TCG merchandise (again due to less exposure and new)
6) Language barrier (it might be true to some players but I will explain to you how you can play as well without knowing Japanese)
