Kaspersky Anti-Virus + Ad-Aware + Spybot Search & Destroy for me. Running on 2GB RAM. So far so good, I love Kaspersky.

Based on my personal experiences.
For free AV: Avira AntiVir. AVG is not bad either, but prefer AntiVir. For paid AV: Kaspersky. You can run your AV scan in the background and go on with your normal daily surfing/word processing/stuff (Not sure about gaming though) on Kaspersky... that's what I always do  Doesn't lag or slow down anything and it's barely noticeable. |
