unless the rebels operate Il76 Transport aircraft, I doubt they would mistaken anything in the sky for a Boeing 777.
Plus, I'm pretty sure the missiles aren't armed, considering the repercussions of not shooting down a commercial airliner is worse, cause that would mean they have shot down a NATO aircraft, meaning WWE3
