Viral Instagram Account Highlights Women of the Israeli Defense Forces     



An Instagram account called Hot Israeli Army Girls features women carrying assault rifles both in service uniform and sexy bikinis, and has racked up thousands of followers.

All Jewish Israeli citizens are required to complete national service when they turn 18 years old – including girls, who must serve a minimum of two years in the armed forces, according to the Daily Mail.



But when these young women are not dealing with heavy machinery and kicking ass in training, they are flaunting their fit bodies, posing for pictures in their underwear or bikinis and posting photos of themselves basking in the sun.



Israeli girls are deployed to active, frontline duties during the same years their Western counterparts might be going to college or getting their first jobs, noted The Sun.



On the Instagram account dedicated to beautiful female Israeli soldiers, images of the young women, most of whom are in their late teens and early twenties, pose in their military garb and are juxtaposed with their bikini shots.



The Hot Israeli Army Girls page has already gained more than 59,000 followers as of this writing, and more than 2,000 photos of different stunning soldiers have been uploaded.



However, the account, which encourages followers to send in pics of attractive female troops via email, has not posted a new photo in 77 weeks.



According to the Daily Mail, the Israel Defense Forces said that they have punished a group of women for “unbecoming behavior” after some pictures appeared on local news sites.

The disclosures given by our ATM is nowhere near the level given by say US or UK. There they have Freedom of Information act, here everything is hidden, or covered by Official Secrets act... you know what I mean

No, it is not enough. Msia must have better disclosure than that. Do you think the US for example considers it a major intelligence weakness that the general status of its carriers is easily available on the Internet? No, it is simply being accountable to the public.

The people who actually pay for the carriers are being given the assurance that the assets are actually in use, have the capabilities paid for and able to meet the required defence parameters. If the ATM/Mindef wants to be taken seriously, they should also strive to be as open and forthcoming without the usual current situation where almost everything is kept hush hush whether or not it is a real threat. And if Mindef is more open about what Msia's security needs are and has less of a history of corrupt spending and lousy purchasing decisions, only then will it stand a chance of being seen in the public eye as anything more than a crony-feeding dictator's toy army.

But thats the general level of governance in Msia anyway, as was showcased to the world in MH 370 incident: don't ask questions, trust the word of your lord and masters while we cover up the shortfalls.

I was aware it was no longer in use since both Scorpenes are now operational. I think the issue has come up here before. But I was making a general point.

For reference, this is the kind of report other countries can come up with, providing information which the public should know about how their tax dollars (pounds) are being used. Does anybody think SUPER-SENSITIVE TOPPEST SECRET INFORMASI is being leaked here? No. But it is useful to the people who actually pay for the stuff.

And this is the kind of readiness information which is allowed to be shared. Not too detailed, nor is it information which would be very useful to an enemy (whose spies would already have known in real time during the incident) but useful for the public to know whether the armed forces are doing their job, or slacking off under the guise of "combat readiness military secrecy"...

There are also announcements available about deployments and sailing times, OSD dates for all but the most sensitive hardware and equipment and key milestones in procurement e.g. F-35 program.

Mindef is giving nowhere near that level of accountability and transparency, stop trying to pretend it is.
