as much as there're guniangs as nsmen, there're also very motivated ones.. guniangs complain all the time, lack motivation and just go through the motion for 2 years.. once ORD, they pray that they never get call up and get fat... exercise only to pass ippt and lives their lives ignorantly... when they have kids, they will tell stories of how much tougher when it was then, how macho they were.. yada yada yada

Uh
Non-project members aren't going to receive any F-35s
Project members aren't going to receive any source code
I'm not aware of any downgraded spec units....
Can't blame them if they did laugh.gif laugh.gif

Japan and Sourh korea are example are not in the JSF member country. And singapore only joint as some sort of observe member. Most probable for integation with isreal weapon system, once the plane is mature and have plans to buy them. Thecnically Japan, south korea and even SG will get lower grade spec.

AFAIK all F-35s will be of similar spec, just integrated with their individual countries' preferred weapon systems, however those are mostly US weapons too - Israeli F-35s are a bit of special case.

Japan as well as Australia received contract for maintainenance and upgrade depot sites Pacific area F-35s, I doubt they will have lower spec aircraft as they will be doing work on US aircraft anyway

SG also used to be a 1st-tier ie preferred partner for F-35, but they chickened out brows.gif now they have to go to the back of the queue for F-35s

i disagree with your comment... first of all singkieland did it with a reason, a clear understanding of the need for a capable armed forces to defend the country and it can only be done with either a very expensive huge regular army or conscription.. the others reasons are for cultural n racial integration, propaganda dissemination and cheap labour... msia doesn't have a strong enough reason...

there's no buy-in by the people... when singkieland introduced ns, lky n pappy was at the height of their power, although there're people that disagree they understood why... as for msia, for what reason? to guard msia's border against pinoys n indons? no (gov via projek IC already importing them in), to reduce crime? no (lots of civil servants already in cahoot with criminals), to provide business for mak losmak's catering and equipment supply business? to create employment for the massive unemployable unemployed? to create businesses for bumi contractors? to have more projects so that gov funds can be siphon off?

the middle class and elites would not allow such bigotry to happen... unlike some with 10 kids whose lives are deemed expandable, many do not appreciate any foolish effort that would put their offspring in harms way for no strong reason..

after several years of ns in msia, what has been achieved? msia is not more safer/secure... racism is at all time high... no clear indication that participants benefit from it... what's fact is a list of misendeavours that came out of it...

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

feedback from majority of the participants describes it as a holiday camp, some try to console themselves by mentioning they got 5 free meals a day (catered at extremely high cost), free allowance, pickup some 'skills' which by now has long been forgotten, learned how to sing some songs and made some friends along the way...

is the the ns you want?

They should change their NS to support malaysia's bomba and civil defence. Attached them to the station near where the stay. Is more beneficial like that. Having them to do NS for national unit is bit waste of resource when bomba in some places in penang are run by volunteers.

The basic first aid and the most important CPR. The rest like fire fighting is secondary. With this malaysia will have people around to attend if someone collapse, accident and so on. Fire fighthing and other skills are just bonus. SIngapore has made it a compalsory item to have a delabilator in all workplace and comercial bulding. Life is precise.

Actually I feel that ATM should change their retirement pension to that of the US Armed Forces.

Right now ATM's pension is capped at 60% of the personnel's last drawn salary after 30 years in service, plus a lump sum of money (7.5% x months x salary).

US pension is 100% of average salary for last 3 years in service after 40 years.
*
Actually what i rather see is the removal of the 21 years of service cap. Lots of guys that want to continue to serve but have to retire at a young age.
