Summary : Up to this point in time, we can conclude that a
Hard Reset for
N-Series/S60 V3 phones can be done, as repeated in last post by Mgsrulz, by switching "
off the phone, keep your fingers on GREEN CALL BUTTON+3+* and power on the phone whilst holding those three buttons."
Any1 else who has done so successfully, pls confirm that is
THE correct way.
Pls do post yr confirmation. TQ.
besides waiting for someone to confirm it,you can easily google your query

Now what 1 more aspect that one needs to be
CLEAR abt is :
What is the FINAL outcome of that action?
What is only left in the HP after a Hard Reset?
Izzit only the Factory Installed Default items & Original Default settings?
All extras (installed contact info, Apps, data, images, links, etc) are totally removed?
Also anything done to the Firmware if updated firmware is in the phone? Does it remain intact or reverted to firmware installed by factory?
Let's all help to make it clear & remove all doubts so users can carry out a Hard Reset w/o FEAR...
Answers to the above would go a LONG way to help new Symbian phone users to hv confidence when need to do a Hard Reset arises.
All responses here are greatly appreciated and truly invaluable.

Tks a meg in adv.
a hard format erases EVERYTHING you installed or put into your phone.
from contact list to applications to games to messages, everything is wiped out.
you'd have a clean phone, exactly the way you bought it from the shop on the first day.
nothing is done to the firmware.
it stays the same.
if you have(for example) version 2 firmware,it will stay at version 2.
it wont revert back to the previous firmware.
