to activate the wallet you can use VISA/MASTER.

but to top up the funds into wechat wallet you can only use china bank card.. I just binded everything and i have tried transferring money between my wechat wallet and China bank account.. Works fine..

So to fully utilize the wechat wallet, you must have china bank card, china phone number and you have to verify identity..

those who cannot find wechat wallet can ask your friend to send you RMB1 ang pow and it will appear..

if not can only play around with the angpow money or top up via people like me or your friends who have binded everything into the wechat wallet...
