Ive noticed that during weekends and rainy weather, Bangsar is the place to be. Eg Short trips ard BSC, Bangsar Village 1 and 2 etc. also based on experience, wanna share that KLIA is really lousy. Hehe. But if u really need to take the rider and no return passenger, use the LCCT road and pick guys around Cyberjaya.

Agreed. HP block IMO is our bread and butter. UP and MP are great but most slots are really bad traffic times.

im sticking with Petron for petrol. Petronas for 5x points for general goods and Wonda coffee promo. Lol- rm3.30 for 2 cans. Cant get enuff of the mocha drink. Hehe (only tried it after given for free for the grab ambassador freebie)

Wondering if any1 noticed that waze seems broken lately? Seems toll operators are paying them (waze) to use tolls all the time (im referring to u DUKE).

Appreciate if any1 can share their exp with waze lately.

To add, grab will add like 50% of fare or something like that for gs rides. Dont worry man

My 2 cents is the following:

1) get 2014 or newer, gc unlike uber, allow cars up to 6 years frm production date (uber 8)

2) get a car with low petrol (prefably 1.5l and below - heard City 2014 is the petrol champion (or mirage).

3) grab rent is ok but some require full-time commitment

4) better still, if family member has xtra car around, rent from them instead.

5) avoid high maintenance cars, eg peugeot, ford, alfa etc

6) if u must consider a good car + not too bad petrol and also that looks good, mazda 2 sedan should suffice imho (skyactiv)

No free meals unfortunately (esp true for us Malaysians). Gov table bill to 'protect' drivers, they would ask for protection money (socso, tax, reg psv etc).

More concerned if one is already on a quite high tax bracket (eg 21%) would fares/incentives from gc or uber will just make the tax bracket worse.

Furthermore, if we are to deem gc/uber as part of a own business by the individual, how do we factor in operational costs and only declare nett income (eg less petrol, cost of maintenance, toll when no rider etc).

Despite that, as another said earlier, at this junction, nothing is concrete, so grab on guys!! Hhehe

Older than 6yrs can but hav to through inspection la. But since u r buying the car in 2017, not sure worth to buy older than 2012 car.

Probably due to problem with battery saver thingy. Faced same problem with my redmi note 4.

Went to settings and make exceptions on grab app and waze (no restrictions), now ok edi.

Tried that recently. App will prompt phone not registered. I was switching between 2 phones and 2 numbers (ios and android) coz face problem with grab app not connected when idle/in background ie. When using waze. Hence the available for jobs button auto off when using waze and there will be a delay when dropping off passengers coz grab app only reconnecting when i switch app from waz.


FYI, as per my earlier post, got problem fixed with battery saver off for grab app and waze.

Maybe method will work if switching between same platform eg android to android. Nit too sure tho.

I have just checked. Same as u, 238 rated me. Rating yoyo all the time. Currently at 4.91.

Seriously, grabshare is a rating killer.

Most gs passengers only want cheaper fare but gets unhappy when need to share the ride.

Sigh. Keep on educating but still no improvement it seems.

Funny how grab insist on grabshare by giving promon on gs rides yet increase rating requirement for incentive eligibility.

I've only driven slightly less than 2 mths but thinking hard to whether continue. No motivation.

Today, got 1 lady book to Twins Damansara. When i arrived​ she said no, the car she is waiting for in a city not myvi. She showed a glimpse of her phone and it appears to be uber app.

Which means, she booked both uber and grab and just decided to go with uber. Asked to cancel but ignore message and phone calls. Sigh. Reported to cs on the rider.

As usual. Dont think cs would do anything though.

Also. Beware of marketing trick around Bangsar. They book a ride then phone you and ask if u r interested in earning cash by switching telco or something like that.

When u tell them not interested and ask politely to cancel the booking, they just drop the call and ignore subsequent calls and finally block ur phone number.

Damn sien.

As usual, i reported to grab cs but this time they admitted they received several complaints on the same rider and they took action by banning the number/rider.

Im interested too. Do share.
