Part-time Uber and GrabCar drivers are not excluded from declaring their earnings to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB), says chief executive officer Sabin Samitah.
He said if the earnings from providing the service, coupled with their fixed income exceeded the minimum threshold of RM30,000 a year, they would be subjected to taxation.
"The income (from Uber and GrabCar) must be declared as additional income in Form B," he told a press conference during IRB's Hi-tea with the media in Kuala Lumpur today.
How to open and declare in b form? All maintenance, petrol can count?
Change to Form B, declare as business income, u need to do simple income statement
Income : Net Income from grab
Less Expenses:
Petrol
Upkeep & Maintenance
Phone charges
Insurance
Road tax
Add all the expenses up then apportion it by 50% or 2/3 of it
I believe Grab and Uber will co-operate with LHDN with submitting the list of drivers and earning in softcopy, just a matter of time whether they going after u

Ok, u will leave your car at home after finish your FT grabcar? Normally for FT will be add back 1/3 for personal use. You need to justify to IRB officer your car is solely for FT grabcar and I didn't use it for personal if want to claim full on your expenses. Same go to mobile bill.
For part timer i think add back 50%, both mix up i also don't know how to apportion it
