Btw you can not minus all of your petrol, maintenance, mobile bill, car repair fee etc. Because some of them is for personal use. Unless you can justify the car is solely for grab and didnt use it for personal (this is a bit difficult to judge).

minus 50% lor, or else how to justify

Part-time Uber and GrabCar drivers are not excluded from declaring their earnings to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB), says chief executive officer Sabin Samitah.

He said if the earnings from providing the service, coupled with their fixed income exceeded the minimum threshold of RM30,000 a year, they would be subjected to taxation.

"The income (from Uber and GrabCar) must be declared as additional income in Form B," he told a press conference during IRB's Hi-tea with the media in Kuala Lumpur today.

How to open and declare in b form? All maintenance, petrol can count?
*
Change to Form B, declare as business income, u need to do simple income statement

Income : Net Income from grab

Less Expenses:
Petrol
Upkeep & Maintenance
Phone charges
Insurance
Road tax

Add all the expenses up then apportion it by 50% or 2/3 of it

I believe Grab and Uber will co-operate with LHDN with submitting the list of drivers and earning in softcopy, just a matter of time whether they going after u

QUOTE(timmy22 @ Mar 30 2017, 09:39 AM)
Ok, u will leave your car at home after finish your FT grabcar? Normally for FT will be add back 1/3 for personal use. You need to justify to IRB officer your car is solely for FT grabcar and I didn't use it for personal if want to claim full on your expenses. Same go to mobile bill.
*
For part timer i think add back 50%, both mix up i also don't know how to apportion it

My friend claimed parent medical relief which is not allowable and end up he was slap hefty penalty for underestimate tax

Why feel stress? Good questions...sometimes of the jammed and cant get passengers during MP,UP and HP time.
*
why very hard to get ping during MP UP HP time? hmm.gif
U go KL city confirm u can get plenty laugh.gif

If too jam try to open topic with riders, ask what they are working etc. Can improve your talking skill in the mean time.

I keep positive thinking all the while, with more driving u roughly know where got demand at what time. For Eg. Shopping mall highest demand would be dinner time 6-7pm and 9-10pm. After work 5pm-7pm office area will have high demand. Find a spot comfortable for u and get ping from there.

Okay thanks for sharing. What car u drive and how much roughly u can make a week.
*
just driving a myvi, it depends on my schedule. if busy or having something to do over weekend can get 100-200, if weekend free then can get 500 or more.

I just treat it as part time income for my free time. Normally per hour can get u about RM15 nett or more.

I only get 3 trips on UP and MP provided the first 2 trips is in bangsar

Eg.first trip BV to Bangsar LRT, Bangsar LRT/UOA Bangsar to bangsar house/condo, then 3rd trip bangsar to bangsar LRT

Wondering if any1 noticed that waze seems broken lately? Seems toll operators are paying them (waze) to use tolls all the time (im referring to u DUKE).

Appreciate if any1 can share their exp with waze lately.
*
Don't rely on waze entirely, if u familiar with the route stick with it.

Waze ask me to go Old Klang Road by using Eco City road, but that road is not open yet doh.gif

Yup, for weekdays i'll probably drive 6-8pm, aiming mainly for UP & HP slot.

Like Askar Perang and Doraemonkiller recommend, aim for HP slot and above only

QUOTE(AskarPerang @ Apr 4 2017, 07:44 PM)
It's harder before this. Imbalance of supply (drivers) > demand (riders)

Last time I consider that as "dry" moment. Need to drive to find ping. That is really really a bad period of time. Wasting fuel some more.

But situation is better at the moment. Probably because of the promo. The awareness, exposure to more people, etc.
*
With grabshare and b2b, i don't think ping is harder to get.

Kudos to grab management, they got the massive funding and spend it on promo, recently tie up with Petronas and in return sharing data, provide special x5 Grab Ambassador card. Hopefully the next one would be enhancement of the system.

Guys,

My acceptance rate is 75% now is it still possible to reach 88% and eligble for the insentive? How many jobs need to complete to achieve this 88% AR for incentive.

How will we know our cancelation is not more than 10%.
*
I recall askar perang did share some website before

Anyway just use calculator to count, from your calculation it seem u get 16 pings, accept 12 pings, so 12/16 = 75%
Need to do 18 pings to get 88%, eg.30/34 = 88%

QUOTE(kerrysmile @ Apr 5 2017, 11:01 PM)
Is always that way, you will Always  take less incentives. Remember if the incentive for the hour is RM50 you need to less out 20% = RM40, if incentive is RM40 your net incentive will be RM32. etc...

Have you really take count of your incentives, let say you start at 6am to 7am = RM25 / 7am to 8am = RM35 / 8am to 9am = RM35 and 9am to 10am = RM25 So in Total is RM120 x 20% discount = RM96 assuming this are only 1 job using Grab Ambassador as an example. Could you really get RM192 a day for 8 hrs of work?

They are not transparent in their calculation. They NEVER give a reply on incentives issues. I would guess taxi drivers earn more in the past.
*
To be frank, i look at Uber and Grab and find that Grab is transparent with their calculation, it is clearly written there based on online hour, i've calculated myself and the difference is minimal. The min online is crucial in calculation.

u go Uber thread and read, u will not know how the boost formula work. And end up 20km radius make those driver like a dog chasing carrot, end up just a short trip. I do have friend driving with Uber and sharing the same suffer as well. If u don't like it, u may quit and stop driving with them, nobody can force u to do this.

QUOTE(evy @ Apr 7 2017, 03:30 PM)
Hi all, I'm fairly new to driving with Grab and I just would like to get opinions/tips from some of you here who are much more experienced.
I'm mostly driving part time after work (that would be after 6PM?) and can drive around say 2-3 hours per day. I'm just curious how do Grab calculate the percentage of trips completed? Like how do I ensure that I have 50% trips and above like the one they sent in their SMS?

Sorry if this question has been asked but I am still a little confused about it.
*
Read my post below:-

QUOTE(yhtan @ Mar 29 2017, 03:42 PM)
The incentive start from 5.45pm to 6pm, let say u accepted one ping on 5.50pm and drop off 6.10pm at RM5 fare.

Incentive = 40 x 15/60 = RM10
Which mean u guarantee earn RM10, minus the fare RM5, u will get gross incentive RM5, net incentive RM4 (after minus 20% commission)

Move on to next hour block 6.00pm to 6.59pm, 2 ping
1.accepted at 6.15pm and drop off 6.30pm, fare RM5
2.accepted at 6.35 and drop off 7.30pm, fare RM30
This block guarantee you RM50 incentive, minus the RM35 fare u accepted, Grab will top up RM15 gross incentive, net is RM12 incentive.

U didn't do any job from 7.00pm to 7.59pm so that hour block incentive is not available for u.
