i think there is a cheap trick to increase Graphic subscore for those who are using onboard GPU or lowend GPU.
just go to bios setting increase ur video frame buffer, eg from 32mb change to 64mb(more than 64mb doesnt work). the click "update my score" let vista recalculate ur score. my gaming graphic subscore increased 0.6 after doing this lol This post has been edited by 1024kbps: Sep 23 2007, 02:35 PM |

if i remember correctly, vista will have lower memory score if user have 4gb of memory, instead of 2gb.
i think its just a rough benchmark, try run other benchmark software to benchmark ur system with 2gb and 4gb of memory, see got any difference from vista one. |

Actually u guys should click the "vkiew and print details",
vista will list out more verbose infomation than the normal "vista experince index". |

to get 5.9 harddisk subscore u probably need SATA 3.0gb/s harddisk, or raid 0, or raptor

ssd will get 5.9 as its faster, but read here:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=586664&hl=ssd its very expensive, with that kind of price, u prolly can get huge capacity raid0 harddisk, or better gc/mobo, or quad core cpu |

im using dual WD 320gb sata 3.0gb/s as raid 0, hdd subscore is 5.9
im not sure how single sata 3.0gb/s perform, probably need to enable the options "advanced performance" to get higher score. |

QUOTE(zeronehza @ Jan 12 2008, 10:15 PM) my single sata score @ 5.4.. where is the option to enable advance performance? right click ur hdd, go to hardware tab, double click ur sata hdd on the list, go to policies tab, and u should see this:will it affect the harddrive lifetime? ![]() as the picture said, u should have Uninterruptible Power Supply(UPS) to use this options, the risk probably is as high as raid 0 config harddisk. there is some minor speed improvement(bust rate), run some hdtach or hdtune to benchmark instead of hoping for score boost on windows experince index:p
for those who interested to get higher hdd subscore, should read here: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...4&hl=hdd+thread This post has been edited by 1024kbps: Jan 13 2008, 12:31 AM |

^ 1.5x of your system RAM, its system default settings.
setting the pagefile larger than system default is useless because harddisk access time is very freaking slow even compare to slow RAM. |
