if u want to work on nice pied, the white at the back its actually 'extra', to stable the marking n not adding more extra, then u hv to pair it with a non-spotted with strong spotted silbing, (if we dont hv then use as long as got spotted one loh, best is with those got good sp or pied sibling).
if u want to make moult, but it gonna take u alot of generation, as we don't hv mottled modifier, u need to pair it with an other spotted( as much sp as u can) to add more sp on the gerbil, but the improvement gonna be VERY SLOW, means alot of generation. so in the middle u will hv alot of half half sp gerbil
but if we don't hv mottled modifier, thats the only way though.
yes 75% spotted only can call mottled
Ah.... coz I read in the UK forum on what Ed said..... ok, I guess I can try and do mottled as well.... now this pied is my 2nd generation. I know getting the mottled is gonna be long but I guess can try heheheh.if u want to make moult, but it gonna take u alot of generation, as we don't hv mottled modifier, u need to pair it with an other spotted( as much sp as u can) to add more sp on the gerbil, but the improvement gonna be VERY SLOW, means alot of generation. so in the middle u will hv alot of half half sp gerbil

Now got pied Black and pied Argente Cream that are both very nice.... too bad can't pair since both males so I got a spotted argente cream female, I think can try.... Very hard to get good pied loh but I will continue breeding to get back the pied.
Now I got 2 PEW babies.... 1 or both of them should be sp or pied.... but too bad dunno since all white
