buah limau buah limau...i want buah limau.. lets go raya to hun hause..then foo..and all our chinese frends..hohoho but when i come all dogs must be simpan aaa... oh ya..actually if gerbill really dont bite?? few days ago..a freind visit me..and my pets..after play with hamster.. i give him chance to hold gerbils... but..then bitten by the gerbils...banyak blood come out..kesian him.. me myself aa if i compare..the gerbils bite more danger than hamster bite aa. Hmmm... that is strange... but then maybe your friend's hands got some predator smell or food smell... so they bite. Gerbils do not bite without a reason. I got so many, not one has ever bitten me or my friends that come to play. I even let little kids handle them hahahah....

You did mentioned that they played with your hamsters first.. maybe their hands have hamster smell which your gerbil don't like.
