how much Breeder Celect cost per kg...? if almost like Woody Pet (big bag ><rm3 plus/kg & small bag ><rm5 /kg) i think i'll give it a try...

btw... do gerbils can stay in aircond room at night...? hmm.gif

the largest I saw is 35 L giant bag... at pets safari, not sure of the price though. Its more expensive than woody pet, definately.

His daughter died.... sigh... I suspect from breathing problems... Chokee now on BC but still look small... Pumping him and Nescafe with lots of food and vegies... but he still look small. His Red fox son looks bigger than him.

in terms of pet...gender is not really an issue. in fact my females are tamer to humans than my males. however females are fiercer to each other..haha

haha.. im not expert yet in gerbil arena kot..  tongue.gif

is it the way to identify gerbil sex same as the way we apply on hamster??

If the pups are still furless but above 5 days old, you can tell by looking at the underside, females have 6 nipples, males have none. If furred already, you have to wait for the balls to appear on the males. They should start to appear around 5 weeks old. Dont worry, they wont mate until the balls actually develop fully.

Well, gerbils were never meant as feeders anyway. Rats and mice still more economical and easy to breed.

Anyway, about the gender issue, if you are experienced you can tell the gender of the baby gerbils even as early as day 2 or 3, coz boys and girls have some difference at the genetials. Best to sex them as early as possible la, once they are furred it may be a bit hard. Some males develop more slowly than others somemore, and after they get sold to new owner as a female only they realise its a male.

I think pet's wonderland BS ppl wan la.. how to all come from holland? -.-" Surely some bred among themselves and they just take and sell.

the original stock is really from holland... but any new babies there are bred here from the holland stock. I think the price is 48, there they also put the 68 label...then got another sticker saying promo price rm 48, haha...

btw if you put in hay, they will make nests... chew the stalks up to bits and construct their own home, quite interesting to watch.
