Here's one of my duprasis. Their fur is darn soft, like chinchilla fur.

hv to see what gene ur sp black carrying.
it can give u alots of colors, also can only give u one color

u put a aa sp black with an other aa, then can get black oledi, but sp or not hv to see how strong is the sp gene.  if sp is not strong then will become ur avatart ALL BLACK. putting an A- gerbil can give u A- & aa pup, but also can be all A- pups. if ur goal is so low, u only want black any aa will do, n better get an aa PP then sure u get blacks. n also if the sp on the sp black it not a nice one, it will make u a few generation to improve the sp gene, again it hv to be a string sp gene.  n breeding the generation u will need to get more breeding pair to avoid inbreeding.

uh, self doesnt mean no sp... all black gerbils are self, regardless sp or no sp. self means top n bottom coat color are same. if u want to breed sp gerbils... breeding sp x sp will give you 3/4 sp pups... sp x non sp will give you around 50% sp pups.
if u want lilac, deh... you have to start with lilac and deh... dont expect tat a sp black can give you lilac or deh unless it has lilac/deh parents.. then also u have to mate it to lilac or deh in order to get what you want.

sp gerbils will give plain color gerbils, its just depance where the sp drop.  u wouldn't get 100% sp pups.  n there is no certain combination pair will give u certain pups, all depance on the gene they carrying.
its just like normaly black X black give u black, but my black X black with u white n red eye.  breeding gerbil is non 1 pair story.  u hv to get a few good n right pair inorder to get the color u want in the 3rd generation.

Hahah... another person that wants to try breeding.... Breeding properly never stops with 1 pair.... it goes on and on and on.... I can say Thank Goodness I poisoned Foo and Jas into gerbils, if not, I don't think we will ever have such nice colours available or even have a market for gerbils in petshops.

Another thing... if pair sp with non-sp... not always will have 50% sp pups... I got a litter with only 1 sp out of 5 pups... sometimes I think it depends on the background of the parent gerbils and also how strong the sp is. For now, I'm keeping my fingers crossed in hoping to get some nice Sp in the upcoming litters.

Nutmeg is the 3rd one in my signny, so if u say orange then nutmeg is out.
DEH n Argente,
DEH is with black eye
Argente is with ruby eye
both colors looks difference too. DEH hv a high belly line, while Argente line is low.  also it color also affect by the line they r from, a good line will give u a very sharp color, a weak line will not. also it depance on their growing age nutrition intake.  it is y ppl say, if u want to see the animal healty or not, look at their fur.
good nutrition, good health both colors give u very striking looks. even BLACK can be very BEAUTIFUL, cos a good nice black give u a VERY shinny coat!
