take what you read from others with a pinch of salt unless they tell you they own it. the old yorks under OYL had the typical noisy boomy compressors which gets noisier over the years. i know cos i owned two! one of which was replaced with this new York (non inverter) which i ordered from Lazada. the new York aircond is now under Johnson Controls and made in China, and the aircond compressor is quiet. no boomy sound like the york made under OYL. the aircond is almost one year old now and still running fine and quiet both indoor and outdoor. it's even quieter than my neighbour's Daikin non-inverter unit which they also installed new at almost the same time as me.truns out that york not as good as your think coz something like since 2015 they getting their stuff from china, ie just an rebrand or hisense or midea cant remember the full detail.
