I also had a windscreen crack for no apparent reason. While I claimed under my insurance, I’m starting to wonder if it is a manufacturing defect. My car was less than 3 months old at that time.

Sorry if i didnt mentioned, both times were caused by stones whilst driving so got reason la but compared other cars never before had one windscreen replaced n one cracked within 12 months. Small crack 1.5 cm so dont wan to claim insurance yet.

You need to check if there is any mark of stone chip. The crack could be triggered by a small stone chip, which would usually be the source or starting point. Sometimes, the stone chip is very small and not noticeble unless you inspect closely.

Anyway, it is a good thing that you insure the windscreen. Of course, a car that has a big windscreen like KGC is more subceptible to damage compared to a smaller car.

I don't have any issues about KGC windscreen yet as so far the issue on my in-laws' KGC that me and my missus have to settle are the tyres and suspension.

But coming from 2nd-gen Mazda CX-5, there have been few reported cases where the windscreen cracks for no apparent reason.
Some members managed to claim their windscreens replacement from Mazda directly (without using their WS insurance) when the SC confirmed that there were no stone chips, marks, etc on the cracked area.

Maybe can try your luck with KIA's SC

One of the tyre had a bulge on the thread, not at the usual sidewall.
Our friendly neighbourhood tyre shop suggested we claim from the manufacturer as he suspected manufacturer's defect.
KIA SC didn't want to entertain our claim so my wife, being a lawyer, went direct to the tyre supplier to argue our case and one of the staff there admitted that they have received few complaints on similar type of defect on the stock Kumho tyres from KGC owners, so they relented and replaced the defect tyre with a new one.

As for the suspension, my BIL felt some sort of the steering vibration and the car tends to pull to the left. The SC admitted that the suspension is faulty and they replaced it under warranty

Thanks. We changed tyres and the tyre shop said there was some alignment ssues as they could not get it right. Thot it was just the shop not familiar with KGC. They did suggest we check with SC. Will do next round.

Also discovered my windscreen washer tank is leaking somewhere slowly but not enough to drip down to the floor in puddles. Funny thing is the tank will remain full until i use the washer. Once used the tank will be empty overnite....hv to check this too!

BTW is your coolant full to the max mark or just half full?

Latest design/color scheme for upgraded Kia Grand Carnival KX with exclusive color matching 2 tone leather seats. The leather seats design look typical to that of the SX original, yet the color scheme of black and grey is completely different to blend perfectly with the KX interior. Simplicity of color is key and truly, a case of less is more !!!

Very subjective I would say. The price difference is 30K.
SX is equipped with the following, which are not found in the KX:
* LED projector head lamp
* smart and power tail gate
* 7 inch meter cluster vs 3 inch
* LED fog lamp ( ice cube )
* leather with wood trim steering
* power driver Seat & front passenger
* roof rack
* blind spot collision warning system
* rear cross collision warning
* smart phone wireless charger
* memory seat for driver
* rear entertainment system ( 2 monitors )
* Leather seats

Highlighted in Bold letters are items you can upgrade for less than 10K, albeit thru after-market suppliers.

Unfortunately, these items that you have mentioned come built-in with the SX model only, hence you cannot upgrade them for KX.

Would this be how the interior of an 11 seater Kia Grand Carnival looks like, if it ever comes to Malaysian market.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW)
When backing out of a parking spot or driveway,
the system warns the driver if it detects any cross traffic
in the lane the vehicle is entering.

With the haze problem going on in many parts of our country, the importance of the clean air system in your Kia Grand Carnival can't be over emphasized than now.

The cluster ionizer makes disinfection and decomposition of bad smell from the air-conditioner or inflow air. And it cleans the inside air of a vehicle.

When the ignition switch is ON, the ionizer runs "CLEAN" mode and then "ION" mode, switching between both modes.

In the “CLEAN” mode, the cluster ionizer generates negative ions and positive ions to help clean smells from the air.

In the “ION” mode, the cluster ionizer generates negative ions and cleans inside air of a vehicle.

i plan to get 1 kx model early next month, went over to glenmarie kia showroom recently to meet with Mr Sham. nice chap.

was wondering if anyone here changed their brake rotor to slotted or cross drilled ? where did u change ? also any nice coils to rekomen like eibach ?

i just traded in my alphard not long ago to replace with this.

test drove my friend's sx yesterday night. diesel fumes are ......well , normal la diesel car. but power wise quite decent, noise level also decent, cabin space also decent. overall i'm ok with this.

quite tired of alphard, as is my 3rd alphard liao. sold for good price.

overall, the diff between my alphard and this grand carnival is headroom. most visible diff. brakes in grand carnival are also very sharp. abit too sharp to my liking. not sure if full load on high speeds can stop. i gerenti alphard kenot thats why i changed my rotors and 4 pot caliper. also i change the coils to eiback to lessen bodyroll. that made the drive of the alphard much sharper.

planning to do the same to my kia grand carnival when i receive the car maybe in october.

anyone with any knowledge on cross/slotted disc and coils for grand carnival pls advice.

other than that, all the other accessories i can get like tailgate motor and sidestep and etc etc.
