QUOTE(wc_how @ Oct 25 2017, 08:32 AM) Sony has good speaker & camera, but suck in software. If you are willing to take risk and void warranty(able to backup), you can flash sound mod to max its performance. I am looking forward to Android 8.0, received quite a lot good feedback on XZP. Some fixes on camera distortion and sound is louder. And noticeable performance is increased. Hopefully it can reach next few days. i dont htink sony software isnt good . Their ui is one of the most fluid ui i have use so far . But their ram management is bad . When the phone is idle , the anroid system can take up to 1.2gnb on my xzs . Wheras for my another 2gb ram phone , the ram only stays below 900mb

QUOTE(wc_how @ Nov 25 2017, 01:10 AM) No need to surprise. Basically X Performance, XZ & XZs are the same phone. At least 90% same. In XDA, XP share some development with XZ. Ya, but the camera not same and ram not same can also sharew the same software? Lol

QUOTE(Mr Gray @ Nov 26 2017, 02:23 AM) Hi guys, just wondering for those who have used sony phones for quite some time, what do you think about the sharp edges? I am thinking of getting xz2 compact, but I'm worried that the sharp edges would be very uncomfortable for long usage. I didnt feel that , coz i am using my phone with casing all the time

QUOTE(wc_how @ Nov 27 2017, 11:50 AM) After few days of Oreo, i very satisfy on it. Super smooth near to 0 lag unless heavy gaming + phone heat up. RAM management is working now, 92% ram usage without lag, unlike 7.1. This is only flagship level performance. So far, my review is Performance: 7.0 > 8.0 > 6.0 > 7.1 Stability: 8.0 > 6.0 > 7.0 > 7.1 Battery: 8.0 > 6.0 > 7.0 > 7.1 Overall: 8.0 > 7.0 > 6.0 > 7.1 Does the phone heat up easily under light usage??

QUOTE(wc_how @ Dec 3 2017, 12:13 AM) Almost the same. But a very little slightly warmer than nougat for normal usage. When high performance, oreo is far cooler. Ok, thanks, I think I will update in the next few days ....

QUOTE(wc_how @ Dec 12 2017, 10:11 AM) Fixed the type-c myself. A super tiny and same colour sand dropped inside and stucked there. The super fast dropping price, I feel Sony didn't valued their loyalty customers. My first XZ RM2699, one of the only five pre-order in Sony Centre. I felt stupid to pre-order now. I bought my second XZ happily with RM1399, nearly half price just after 11months++. I should wait 1 year and buy 2 units. haha , as a xzs use here , i still think the phone is going strong now ...If you rmb , u ultra and xzs were released around the same time in this year around feb and march , the price of u ultra already dropped to 1.6k , while xzs still can maintain at rm2.3k , i think the depreciation rate is quite ok lah This post has been edited by delsoo: Dec 18 2017, 07:23 AM

there's fingerprint issue with my xzs . When i locked the phone and unlock it with my fingerprint with no apps running in background , i only gt 1 time sucessful out of 10 times . However , when i open some apps like fb , whatsapp and etc and lock it by pressing power button , then unlock it with fingerprint again , success rate is almost 100% , why ya ? When i press the power button , i was asked to enter the pin , why ya ?Any setting problem ? or hardware faulty ?

After updated to Oreo , the finerprint sensor still doesnt work well on my xzs . Should i try software repair ? I just updated and format my phone . Will software repair solve the fingerprint issue ? Or it will be the same ? Coz i lazy to wait and perform the software repair again . When i unlocked my phone with fingerprint , i failed most of the time , i was prompted to unlock the phone with PIN instead . This is kinda annoying . I have this problem since Nougat ... Is it hardware faulty ? My finer isn't oily and the sensor isnt dirty either.

QUOTE(wc_how @ Jan 22 2018, 08:11 AM) It is possible. Try with another person. Some peoples finger print got problem even with epf machine. Just found out the culprit . I was using screen lock app all this while . The apps has greater 'privilege' than xperia fingerprint scanner . So , when I lock the phone with the apps , I can only unlock it with PIN . But , if I lock the phone using the physical button , than I can only unlock the phone using the fingerprint scanner . After disable the apps , the fingerprint works like charm , quite fast and accurate even I am using my phone with case .
