Want to ask, my sister went and pump petrol. Here's what happen.

Insert in the card into machine, cancel.
Then preset, enter RM15. But pump pnly RM13+

Maybank send 2 message.
1st one RM200?
2nd one RM15

So how? Need to file complain?
*
No need. It's normal for banks to charge pre-authorised amount of RM 200. It's just to block the credit limit, it will be added back into CL later.
Banks will only charge actual later.

I was there with her. Machine shows RM13+. Receipt also shows RM13+.
*
It's preset amount of RM 15. I believe it's the same like RM 200 theory. Actual amount will be posted later in unbilled transactions.

Happy new year guys!
Need a neutral opinion here, with the recent hike of petrol price, is it worth to get this petronas card (the one with 8% rebate), for another extra 3% cb, as already have others that give 5% cb.
*
Yes. It's free AF, why not? biggrin.gif

Indeed, but with extra card comes extra responsibility, commitment, discipline and wallet thickness lol.
*
Well, it's just one card. Anyway, it also depends how often you use Petronas. If not often, then no need to apply.

Petrol cash back cards may no longer relevant to me because I'm selling off my car as it's really underutilized. I take Grab/Uber or public transport in KL because I don't drive here plus I'm always not in the country. Wasted only to pay installment every month. sad.gif Looks like my Ikhwan will be used for groceries and won't be able to waive my VS' AF. laugh.gif

of course hardcopy letter/leaflet where the card is sticked onto.

it shows u the name, nric, credit limit. I'm not sure about statement date, can't remember.

how come u don't know about the letter? you got the card without anything?
*
Letter doesn't have statement date. At least I don't recall for any of Maybank cards or any other banks' cards... Or I was really ignorant and didn't notice it. sweat.gif

8% only for Petronas.
No minimum amount, no hidden terms.

Yeah. Confirm that letter don't have statement date which make sense too. It doesn't make sense to have statement date based on letter- ie: the delay in card delivery, late activation etc.

So any idea how to know my billing cycle period? Or should call customer service?
*
Either wait or can call CS to check out. smile.gif

if i already have 1 credit card from other bank.. ( ngam ngam 1 year ) record cantik cantik ( no overdue /late payment ). is easy to apply this card?
*
These days holding cards from other banks will not be one of the criteria to be approved with another card from other bank.
However, just apply like normal and let the banks decide.

Unless my spreadsheet screwed up, the cash rebates are based on posted dates.. Value estimated based on posted date is closer than value estimated by transaction date. Around 10ringgit differences. Petronas card.
*
Cash back is always based on transaction date.
Do note posting date is only important if the transactions were done at the last few days of the month, if it is posted in following month, it will use up following month's quota.

For e.g. You swiped on 31st Dec 2016 and it is only posted on 1st Jan 2017, you will still get cash back but will not be calculated as part of Dec cash back. It will be included in January. If you want to spend exactly and maximize cash back, then don't swipe at the last few days of the month.

eh... doesn't that mean it's based on 'posting date'? tongue.gif
*
No, it is not. If it is based on posting date, what if it is posted on 2nd Jan? No cash back? smile.gif
That's not the case, still gets cash back but just that it will fall in which month's quota.

I had Maybank 2 Gold Cards since 2011. Yesterday I applied Ikhwan Gold Card through M2U at 11pm. This morning 2.22am received unsuccessful application email. My salary is 4x compare to 2011 when applied Maybank 2 Gold Cards. sad.gif
*
Nothing unusual for Ikhwan cards. smile.gif
Just appeal via email and follow the tips I posted in post #1.

I just call maybank and ask about the application. Its not even in system yet. I bet the officer didnt even submit the application. Also, I submitted online just now and straight away got reply. Application rejected. Gonna call them and ask why rejected.
*
Banks will not share rejection reason. You may appeal if you want. No PTPTN outstanding right?

No ptptn loan. Had scholarship for studies last time. Now only have car loan with maybank as well. My salary also use maybank. Still wondering why rejected. Salary about rm32k annually.
*
Nothing to be disappointed about when this card has the highest rejection among other cards. Just try to appeal with them again.

Appeal thru email or better to the branch directly?
*
Email. Use back the email which mentions about your recent rejection and send to mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my.
Provide justification and ask them to reconsider your application again.
