How to determine my card is having problems? unless the chip is faulty, this behavior is "normal". once a while, cannot use the card at petronas. could be maybank's failure to authenticate the transaction or mechant issue. retry again later the day or next day. if chip faulty, the card cannot be used (physically) anywhere. have you tried elsewhere where you insert the card to terminals? if consistently fail, initiate a replacement from mbb. there shouldnt be any fee for replacement (due to faulty chip).
