So this is my few days experience with redmi 4 prime. If nothing like these happened, then it is a really good phone for the price. Battery tahan 99. Performance is good not great as we all know. Midrange processor like this lo..
Mine got battery indicator bugs, and not showing charging unless restart phone.
On latest CHINA STABLE ROM.
battery show 100 % never drop unless restart phone. then it shows the correct battery percentage.
sometimes it doesnt charge regardless what charger I am using.
done factory reset, seems nothing changed.
there was even one time phone stuck at mi logo reboot continuously.
only several days i got this phone. please solved these bugs XIAOMI. Thanks.

wow..that is considered very huge bug for a xiaomi phone. Hope they can fix it ASAP.

Anyway, the quality or price of a phone is not only about it's SoC only. There are a lot of factors to look into. Such as the build quality, memory chip speed, glass screen type and camera quality.

XiaoMi is cheap because their camera are usually bad. Especially their redmi range of phone. For example, Redmi 4 prime vs Asus Zenfone 3. One phone is RM699 and another is RM1499 but using same SoC. But look at the build quality of Asus and the camera. Those 2 itself already justify the higher cost. Anyway you guys get my point.

Still, it is really cheap for people who do not mind some of the features that xiaomi sacrifice to get to that price point. That is the market segment that xiaomi is aiming with their redmi series. But seems like their Mi flagship series are also getting some really bad sacrifice such as camera which became worse from good quality in Mi5 to bad quality in Mi5s and worst in Mi Note 2.

Anyway...snapdragon 625 is a good midrange SoC for people who want a balance between price over performance.

If you don't mind the size, RN3 is a better option. I'm waiting for RN3 to shrink into Redmi size but so far no luck. RN3 size is not pocket friendly & I prefer single handed usage.
Snapdragon 650 is superior than 625, although might lose a little bit on battery life. But still, RN3 can last full day usage with no problem

I have both phone that run SD650 and SD625. I have also watched enough reviews on them to know the difference between them in performance is not much. SD625 is slightly slower but it has better battery management. I would actually not mind either and go for a phone that I like such as phone size or designs or camera.

There really are not much difference in performance. So don't hold off R4 prime if you like the size. In real life performance they are almost the same.

what is the performance difference between redmi 3s and redmi 4a? Looks like 3s is better as it's SD430 vs SD425.

Isn't it cheaper to get a new redmi 3s?

edit: I just did a search for redmi 3s in lazada and the price is now like 550. WTF? I bought it for only like 440+ previously. Why suddenly so expensive??

Just get Redmi 4X or Redmi Note 4. Forget about the Mi4. The battery and the fingerprint are so handy. Unless you want pure performance or flash CM ROM.

bear in mind SD801 is only 32bit processor. Though performance is better, things like battery performance and heat is not good. As for GPU, the SD625 actually have better one. I think it's Adreno 505 vs 303.

So I would go for sd625 as it's new tech, less heat, less battery hungry, new phone and so on.
