New redmi 4 variant guys, redmi 4X: https://www.lowyat.net/2017/126168/xiaomi-r...battery-sd-435/

It has snapdragon 435, 4100mAh battery, back-mounted fingerprint scanner, low price (but don't know what the price will be like once it comes to our shore, maybe RM499 for 2gb ram, 16 storage and RM599 for 3gb ram, 32 storage?)

DirectD has already started selling the new Redmi 4X that was just announced a few days ago for the price of RM599 (imported set) but it's currently only available in gold color and only 2gb ram 16gb storage variant. Meanwhile Satugadget is selling the device will all three colors; gold, pink, and matte black for RM659 (imported set as well)

Btw, the price for Redmi 4 Prime on DirectD is RM699 for the gold and silver color. For the grey color it's RM749

the only thing is interesting for me is the matte black. Other than that, don't really seem worth than Redmi 4 standard.

The 4X camera a bit better than the regular 4; 13 mp f/2.0 vs 13 mp f/2.2. Looks like Xiaomi revert back to the Redmi 3S camera since the redmi 4 camera was a downgrade from the 3S

Ah~ The camera. Apart from the snapdragon and design, both 4x and 3s are similar. SD430 and SD435 isn't really a major upgrade is it?
*
Yup, it isn't really an upgrade. Both are still built on 28nm manufacturing process, so it's not as power efficient as say; the Snapdragon 625 but the 435 should still last 2 days like the 430 with 4100mAh battery. The real major upgrade for the 435 is the modem inside, with the 435 you get Qualcomm's X9 LTE modem instead of the X6 on the 430 which means you can get theoretically up to 300Mbps down and 100Mbps up instead of 150Mbps and 75Mbps on the X6. Now given that LTE speeds in Malaysia come nowhere close to the theoretical speed of the Snapdragon 430 that's 150/75Mbps limit, it's not really going to make a difference. Now given that the clock speed and GPU speed is the same; 8 cores clocked at 1.4Ghz Cortex-A53 and Adreno 505, so 435 should essentially perform the same as the 430
