Meaning of Label around the Camera Lens, On Camera Phone...

I would like to get help from the experts here to on this label meaning around the camera lens of a camera phone:
1) AF 3.8 mm 1:3.2 2) AF 4.8 mm 1:2.8 I know that AF means Auto Focus, but what is the difference between 3.8 mm and 4.8 mm and also 1:3.2 and 1:2.8 Which camera will produce better picture based on the specs? Thank you very much... |

So this means 1:2.8 handles bit better than 1:3.2 ... while 1:3.2 or the 2.8 denotes the aperture size. Usually hand phone cam wont telling u how big is the cms/ccd sensor size, and also the FOV multiplier. A typical digital camera has 1/2.5" CCD, and having somewhere 6x FOV multiplier. So, in that case, if the lens is 6mm, it means its the same to 6 x 6 = 36mm. In your camera phone, I assume its somewhere 10x, making it a 38mm or 48mm. The only thing u can get from reading the spec, is the smaller the aperture number, theoretically u can take better night photo than the other at higher shutter speed   How about Focal Lenght? 3.8 mm better or 4.8 mm better?  |
