AMD so much confidence with their pricing.
AMD CPU and GPU now price higher than competitor.

QUOTE(nrw @ Nov 26 2020, 03:05 PM)
I'd have loved to see this reaction early this month, as well.
Because just like with their 10% Zen3 mark up especially for Malaysians they seem to be sticking their finger at us once again.
*
Hype ' s all up. Back to reality land.
In fact, if u really look n think a bit
i9 10900 k - 2099 ( down from 2499)
I7 10700 k - abt 1.5 k
It makes worthy of consideration
Plus high chance guarantee d to work out of the box without any issues unlike Zen 3.

6800XT Strix LC anyone ? At USD999. When it's here in MY, would be 5K or more.

We have to thanks AMD for forcing Nvidia and Intel to drop price.
*
agree on that one, i got the 10900k at lower price than the launch price.
it's Not really as bad as some intel bashers says it is.
Perfectly happy with it. No issues whatsoever unlike Zen 3 ( mad.gif )

lol. AMD quite bad in setting the price of their aib card this round but it's a good thing that they are in the market. If the graphic market was monopolized by Nvidia, the price will be much more higher as there are no competition. Intel wise they are going downhill as they lost the crown to previous underdog AMD. Better Nvidia do something to retain the market share, if not who know one day will become like Intel now.
*
Excuse me, who said intel is done ? It's going to get more interesting competition between the red and blue team.
Nvidia makes more refined GPU than Amd. That's a fact. Ppl should look beyond top frame rates and those sleazy benchmarks in determining which is best.
If I am a consumer, User experience and satisfaction are important in addition to those worshipping frame rates crap.

I m neither fanboy of both red n blue. But I m not pleased with AMD's products overall. It's just lack of consistency.

Intel doesn't look good ? It's generating loads of cash flows, paying dividends back to shareholders, buying back it's own shares. It's not going to kaput anytime soon.

Seem like you perceive my message wrongly. I just mentioning it look bad for intel now. I never mention they have no way to climb back, don't get it why you so fired up for my opinion.

I found it very odd, the way you act are just like a intel fanboy yet you claim that you are using amd processor. Lol, maybe I am wrong but no point to discuss on this further, I just want to make myself clear that I am no fanboy to anyone and I wish more competition coming so consumer get a better product.
*
Ok noted. I have both blue & red system , and i can compare.

It's not reliability or longetivity. AMD has good reliability too.

I'm talking about stability of the platform. AMD has issues with its AGESA based BIOS, so there are a lot of minor quibbles which while not system breaking, it is very annoying when they all add up. There are plenty of people suffering from WHEA errors, not that Intel doesn't have this issue either, but they are a lot more less pronounced and more specific, which is easy to pinpoint the issue and fix, where as AMD is kinda all over the place.
*
some ppl don't experience it and don't follow up with other forums and what other ppl/users in other parts of the world are facing. So they don't know.

who actually has a 6800(xt)/6900xt now? which model n what are your personal takes on them?

Nah, just for price comparison . Aorus 3080 master launched at USD849 , 6800xt Master launched at USD899
That's makes it more expensive than ampere for aorus master models.

Big win for AMD in terms of value and price per dollar performance i'm sure. Finally some competition this time around. Can't beat RT and DLSS yet, but they are close.

Even so I think everyone should get an AMD card this gen. Upgrading is low cost compared to upgrading to an Nvidia gpu haha. No need new casing, no need new atx 3.0 psu, great pricing.

I cannot wait for next generation already, consumers will win smile.gif
*
I m planning just for that. The last radeon card i owned was the 6990. now it's time to revisit back Radeon.
And my preference is for cards that is efficient and do not consume lots of power and generates lots of heat.

Pricing shared by Ideal Tech FB page.

Gigabyte Radeon RX7900 XTX 24G - RM5199
Gigabyte Radeon RX7900 XT 20G - RM4699

A few hundreds cheaper than 4080 for pure rasterization power.

QUOTE(Breaktru @ Dec 13 2022, 11:13 AM)
Hey that's a pretty good price , I think it's most likely bundle price . Gigabyte RTX4080 from Czone still need about rm6.7k wow

But still the performance uplift from 6900 series is quite weak , not really 50% as advertised

QUOTE(Jet23sky @ Dec 13 2022, 12:14 PM)
Thanks for the information. I think the actual launch date is tomorrow right? Cause I make some phone call and they said tomorrow will only start selling.

I will definitely go for 7900xtx this time round to replace my Nvidia 1070. Not planning to top up another RM1k just for RT. Will only looking at RT once it can reach at least 90FPS with RT on for those intensive game with cheaper cost.

Currently looking at Powercolour Hellhound ( Looking for Purple colour or blue colour ). Sapphire doesn't look appeal to me. Not sure how's the OC going to be in AIB card.
*
That's not attractive pricing enough. Those are reference models. Based on the XTX OVERALL performance , that's not very convincing compared to 4080 and all of its feature set. Btw can be had closer to 6k now. Morale of the story, do not believe in AMD promotional hype.
