Im glad that I pulled the trigger to build a PC with RTX4070 last 2 weeks . I already thought maybe I should wait for RX9070 but my instinct say it will be close to RM4000 rather than RM3500. I bought the RTX4070 with less than RM3000(brand new with warranty) which I would say a good price and performance compared to RTX5070 at that time.

QUOTE(babylon52281 @ Mar 7 2025, 10:54 AM) If playing RT games, the perf diff between both GPUS are worth the 1k diff. And game developer mostly use DLSS / Frame Gen , there only few games that are FSR friendly.

QUOTE(overfloe @ Mar 7 2025, 08:27 AM) [attachmentid=11510783] prices from idealtech. cheaper and performs better than 7900 XT. cheaper than 4070 Ti Super, similar performance. way way cheaper than 5070 Ti but of course, lesser performance. but in some reviews, it trade blows and can be better than 5070Ti (raster). better than 5070. good price? only buyer (in malaysia of course) can decide. wait for a few months, scout for monthly deals from lazatda/shopee and probably can shave a few hundreds off the MRP (Malaysian Retail Price). I would say, RTX4070 is a good option if you really cant wait and find it. RTX4070 has lower power consumption, has similar performance to 5070 with cheaper price.

QUOTE(gacktleong @ Mar 7 2025, 04:19 PM) why not a 9070? cant go wrong with 16gb vram price. you can still get rtx4070 under RM2700 and all 9070 in Malaysia is above RM3000. But RTX4070 stock are pretty limited as 5070 are too pricey and 9070 is on the higher price.

QUOTE(YahooGmail @ Mar 8 2025, 10:23 AM) Why malaysian pricing is with rm600 to rm800 markup? Distributor or retailers scalping? Too many hands AMD > Asus/AsRock/MSI/Gigabyte etc > Region distributor > local pc shop > normal people. I think GPU can be cheaper if NVDIA/AMD just sell the reference card directly here.

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Mar 8 2025, 10:55 AM) Free market. They don't have to align with MSRP in Malaysia as there is no AMD here holding the cane. They can sell at whatever market rate that is deemed necessary. Demand and supply. Agreed. GPU can be cheaper if AMD/NVIDIA just sell the reference card. As for 9070 , there is no reference card . https://www.reddit.com/r/hardware/comments/...ference_design/Even for west market, they only have AIB card.
