No1 AMD fan is not impressed with Vega performance reveal. 

I've expected this too.  It's Fury X all over again.

It is high end meaning that, there will be only 1 Vega variance at launch.  The so called bigger Vega is probably going to arrive later. Very late.

My expectation on Vega is clear.  If they price it right, maybe in between 1070-1080, it put enough pressure for Nvidia to lower their 1080 price, and release the 1080ti to take back the performance crown.

If Vega is up against 1080 in term of pricing, well AMD is not saint as everyone thought.

Some people say when they watched jayz video they said he got very lucky he got the better variations of the card.

I decide on a RX480 since many say that the card will last longer in terms of support (updates etc) and after a bit of reading the latest updates made the card now perform much better.

I saw RX 470 in 8 gb. Is it better to buy that or stick with the original plan by getting the rx480?

not to sure najmod quit or not, sold my 980ti as im planning for a ps4 pro, i had a r9 380 as backup but gpu dieded all of a sudden and sent for rma, no gpu. price he sold to me is reasonable gpu very new actually. Not too bad la this rx470 can play rise of tomb raider at very high settings dx12 @ 1080p very well.

I'm using 1050 Ti but if AMD could come out with a better GPU and using just 125W or below, I'll swap back again.

I did a quick look between xfx rx480 GTR and Sapphire rx 480 nitro.
the XFX one has core clock of 1338 Mhz while Sapphire 1342 Mhz.
Lets say if I purchase the Sapphire and underclock it to the same core clock as the XFX one will I be able to achieve the same cooling performance?

As former user of R7 260x, it lasted me from 2014 to 2016 end but with sluggish performance as it goes and never can reach High settings... Hope Vega GPU can amaze me this year!

ASUS version also much better.

Small boxes appearing here & there while playing several games & some games even crashes back to desktop
The card is factory overclocked to 1150MHz
Downclocked the card to 1100MHz then everything is smooth again

The water pump on the GPU also sometimes doesn't run when the PC hasn't been turned on for several days, had to knock softly on the back of the GPU then only the pump will work

Want to wait until RX 490 is released because if I RMA now, afraid they will only replace it with RX 480

Mine is r9 290 windforce. Let see if I able to swap for the palit gtx970.
