hi guys, just to inquire about something. im torn between rx 480 8gb vs rx 580 4gb as both prices are quite similar. which one is a better buy?

580 is most likely like what the 390 did to the 290. Better BIOS, better memory chip, tighter memory timing, slightly lower power consumption(or higher depend on BIOS).
If you're going to keep it for many years i suggest grab the 8GB model.

Sapphire nitro+ 480 8gb to be exact. dont think im topping up for the 8gb on rx 580. so for now just rx 480 8gb vs rx 580 4gb (both from sapphire nitro+)

im using msi rx480 gaming x 8gb. bought it bcoz all stock finish for the 4gb version. played saveral games the division,witcher 3,bf1, watchdog,gtav in 1080p. vram usage max 3.5gb~4gb. almost never hit more than 4.

based on leaked benchmark test, should around +-10% performace of rx480, but it was test under base clock.
As Nitro+ ver, it can oc to 1342mhz, not sure bout rx580 nitro+ can oc more than 1400mhz or not @@ wait for release XD

Wait for user review if you that slightly more performance really matters to you.

Slight performance doesn't really matter much to me but power consumption better hardware parts maybe? On the rx 580 are what I'm looking for. Read some where that it reduce consumption. Rx 480 about 225 and rx 580 about 150 ( same as gtx 1060)
