PowerColor offered me to swap my faulty R9 390X with the 2 options below
Which one should I get? 1. Another PowerColor R9 390X Devil 2. PowerColor RX 580 Red Devil RX 580 feels like a downgrade because of the lower Memory Bus, lower Memory Bandwidth, lower Shader Processing Units, lower Texture Mapping Units, lower Render Output Units, lower Texture Rate & lower Pixel Rate This post has been edited by sHawTY: Nov 13 2017, 12:02 AM |

QUOTE(Najmods @ Nov 13 2017, 04:54 PM) Both are two different architecture, one is newer than the others so you cant directly compare like that. Its a sidegrade not a downgrade. You gain a little bit of performance, in turn better power consumption and lower heat output. You can watch on youtube on how 290x (similar to 390x but with 4GB RAM) performs on par or slightly worse than RX 470. I think hardware unboxed done that comparison. QUOTE(Mubarak90 @ Nov 13 2017, 05:10 PM) Gaming wise, RX580 performs better than R9 390X. QUOTE(S4PH @ Nov 13 2017, 05:40 PM) i will certainly go rx 580, 390x just gobbles up too much wattage Thanks for the update guys, will go for the RX 580 then |

QUOTE(yhsiau @ Oct 1 2018, 11:38 AM) 10 - 15 % performance gained against Rx580 If this is true then it's utterly dissapointingWas hoping for the next AMD GPU to be able to beat RTX 2080 Ti. Or at least beat the crap out of GTX 1080 Ti |

QUOTE(noobianz @ Oct 29 2019, 10:41 PM) re-visit RX5700XT+modded kraken g12. Using an old AIO(antec kuhler h2o 620) i had lying around 1. Your picture is really small, kinda hard to see the temperatures2. 90°C on load even with AIO cooler? |

QUOTE(noobianz @ Nov 2 2019, 09:27 PM) yep not that great, 90c for edge temp with AIO. Prior to this with stock cooler edge temp often reach 110c with default fan curve. If i ramp it up to 60% fan speed it hovers around 100c. 5700 XT temperatures are really that bad? only problem is with kraken g12 is, it doesnt have active cooling on VRAM. On a hot day VRAM sometimes reach 100c, shy 5c from upper spec limit.(I had low profile copper heatsink on the VRAM) My 2080 Ti even with the stock tri-fan heatsink on stock speed 1.85GHz temperatures never goes higher than 85°C on full load Now with full watercooling, I'm only getting 50°C on full load overclocked to 2.10GHz |

QUOTE(noobianz @ Nov 2 2019, 10:35 PM) I have another rx5700xt on another system, but it's Asus ROG strix. Temperature on that one is around 70c edge temp/90c junction temp@2.1ghz, far much better than the modded one with AIO. Ever thought of moving to full watercooling?Your H210i casing can fit a 240MM radiator at the front & a 120MM radiator at the rear You will definitely get better temperatures with full watercooling system even in that small casing This post has been edited by sHawTY: Nov 2 2019, 10:53 PM |

QUOTE(noobianz @ Nov 2 2019, 11:06 PM) Yep, planning to wc in the near future Buy Bykski & Barrow, their products is really good & really cheap tooI've been using a mixture of Bykski & Barrow parts since July this year & no leaks whatsoever Just buy from Taobao, a lot cheaper than buying from Lazada / Shopee EK-WB, Thermaltake, Corsair, XSPC, AlphaCool & other brands is good, but they are quite expensive Below is my watercooling system, everything is from Taobao ![]() You may refer to the links below on where I bought them: 90° Elbow Fitting, extender, fittings & digital flow meter: https://hjdn.taobao.com/ Tubes: https://freezemod.taobao.com/ Radiators: https://xcmod.taobao.com CPU waterblock, GPU waterblock from Bkyski: https://bykski.tmall.com Pump & reservoir from Barrow: https://barrow.world.tmall.com This post has been edited by sHawTY: Nov 2 2019, 11:23 PM |

QUOTE(kucuboy @ Nov 29 2019, 10:51 AM) How much did it cost you to do this entire cooling system, excluding fans. QUOTE(linkinpark @ Nov 29 2019, 10:32 PM) The rest like the tubes & fittings doesn't have brands. No leaks & cracks whatsoever even after 5 months My setup costs around RM1500. 1 x 360MM at the front 1 x 360MM at the top 1 x 120MM at the bottom nearby the PSU area 1 x CPU waterblock with water temperature sensor & LCD display 1 x GPU waterblock with backplate 1 x flow, temperature, speed sensor & LCD display 13 x G1/4 14MM fittings 8 x 90° fittings 4 x 50CM x 14MM PETG tube Just a reminder, if you have never done hard tube bending before, make sure you buy extra tubes because you are going to make lots of errors before you fully master the skill of hard tube bending I've wasted about 3 meters of the PETG tube before I learn how to bend them correctly. Luckily the tubes is really cheap at less than RM3 for each 50CM QUOTE(linkinpark @ Nov 29 2019, 10:32 PM) I saw all of yr fan idcooling. I'm also using those fan too but doesn't you feel loud once it hit around 1200rpm. Super loud on 1800rpm? All of them is running below 1000RPM, but still managed to cool my 2080 Ti at 35°C on idle & 48°C on full load during gaming & my Threadripper 2950x at 35°C on idle & 68°C at 100% full load during stress testThis post has been edited by sHawTY: Nov 30 2019, 01:37 PM |

QUOTE(kucuboy @ Nov 30 2019, 02:03 PM) Oh snap, I tot when you mentioned cheap, it would be a few hundred only The same parts from EKWB or Thermaltake or Corsair will cost you at least RM3K This post has been edited by sHawTY: Nov 30 2019, 04:26 PM |
