tbh, you're also one of guys that makes me has buyer's remorse after reading your posts tongue.gif

I'm using rx 5700xt reference / sapphire pulse xt

Never had soo much headache before. Used a rx580 before this and I never had this much bsod/crashes/laggy chrome video playback

Thought I had a bad gpu. Sold off the reference card at a loss. Bought a brand new sapphire pulse xt. Same issue. Did a ddu format etc etc.

Figured it was a driver issue. Tried 19.7.5 and it has been rock solid

TL:DR - amd drivers are crap. If you're using rx5700 xt. Do yourself a favor and just stay at 19.7.5

Did you disable hardware acceleration? Mine is working perfectly on 19.8.1 - even 8K30 YouTube videos worked perfectly on Chrome icon_idea.gif

you should have just return it to the store and ask for a different unit or upgrade add money for a the pulse unit. I know bro mine was crashing/bsod etc can say every 30 min. PC practically useless.

I guess thats for early adopters fell the headache

yeah did everything. hardware acceleration/free sync/enhance sync/ you name it, I've done it. Was still crashing. 19.7.5 is rock solid right now.

I'll try 19.8.1 later

Browsed reddit and I'm not the only one getting these issues. Consensus says 19.7.5 is the safe bet for now

I never had this much headache before I was using rx580. Then again its a 2 year old model so drivers had time to mature.

All in all the 5700xt is a wonderful card when it works

Not sure is it related or not. I remember I had to ddu , install bios chipset, update latest windows ,clean install Radeon drivers , as well get ryzen master and everything else update ,plus run one time of wizard drivers after everything done then only make my upgraded 64 to radeon vii run normally in firestrike and timespy score fall in normal range.

Known Issues:

Gears 5 may experience an application hang on loading screen with APU only (Ryzen) based desktop system configurations.
HDMI® overscan and underscan options may be missing from Radeon Settings on AMD Radeon VII system configurations when the primary display is set to 60hz.
Stutter may be experienced when Radeon FreeSync is enabled on 240hz refresh displays with Radeon RX 5700 series graphics products.
Radeon Performance Metrics may report incorrect VRAM utilization.
AMD Radeon VII may experience elevated memory clocks at idle or on desktop.
Radeon Overlay may intermittently fail to appear when toggled in game.
Audio for clips captured by Radeon ReLive may be corrupted or garbled when desktop recording is enabled.
Enabling Enhanced Sync may cause game, application or system crashes on Radeon RX 5700 series graphics products.
Just disable Enhanced Sync and you're most likely having no more blue screens.

At least that's what being recommended and successfully fixes most issues.

he took price into consideration i think.

performance wise (taking temp/noise into consideration but ignoring the price tag) its probably: red devil/strix > windforce/pulse > thiccII

does it (red devil) look less flashy? probably so.
but why bother. I have not seen their x5700 but from the review I have seen (computerbase.de) build quality is absolutely fine.

let me paste the link, photos and tables should be self explaining. should you feel the need to read the text use auto translation

Asus - too expensive and they tend to reuse coolers from their nVidia cards (which lead to issues like improper contact) icon_idea.gif

https://www.techpowerup.com/258074/asus-rog...ailed-some-more

The only commendable thing about the ASUS is that the PCB/power delivery is massively overengineered icon_idea.gif

Gigabyte is not known for their good AMD cards, however (although some reviews seem to suggest otherwise)

Powercolor is one of the best AMD AIBs around (on par with Sapphire/XFX) and there are lots of reviews that proves that the Red Devil has one of the best coolers around. Just like Sapphire, their cards tend to be priced cheaper than big name brands such as ASUS icon_idea.gif
