cheating?
Why they always use naming to cheat ppl?

Because they got away in the past doing shit like this and seem like China market give zero f about this as long as it affordable a.k.a not as expensive as a true 580.

To think that i'm able to score a "new" 980 Ti for 1.6k+ over 2 years ago which just slightly slower than Vega 56 is kinda crazy, GPU pricing really get f-ed after that. Gamer blame miner, Malaysian blame Ringgit, jacket man blame AMD.

Why is it still that expensive though? The 2nd hand price should be around 1.3k imo. Try find out if it's a mining card so you can low ball harder. brows.gif

Hahaha. Vega is not as available as rx 500s so it'll take time for me to find one with the right price. biggrin.gif

Hmmmmmm... The profile system seems to be kinda wonky sad.gif
I removed MSI Afterburner that is known to clash with the driver custom settings.
The profiles I created worked for a while... and now it refuse to work again, even if I launch the game through the driver.
(my global setting is 500mh/500mh)

Is the latest driver version, installed a couple days ago as the ReLive Tab was missing.
Now... it missing again! bangwall.gif

GPU: 280X

ATI's coming (mid December) driver (Adrenalin 2019) to support auto OC & undervolting in direct response to NVIDIA’s Turing OC Scanner.

yet massive room for UV wink.gif and since UV takes quite some time if you wanna do it well … a quick [stable (edited*)] solution at 80% accuracy would already be a giant leap.

Damn, i miss Radeon driver.

Why you set 500/500 for global? hmm.gif
Did you reboot your PC on regular basis or you simply shut it down?

the card is obviously old, and it can't operate at factory clock (1150/1600) anymore, otherwise visual artifacts appear.
since browser and various softwares also utilize GPU, i kept it really low so it don't overwork when it's not necessary.
for gaming I kept it under 1100/1400, usually 950/1400. 950 is actual default 280x clock anyway.
I shutdown pc everyday.

//--

I hope the voltage control available for old cards as well.
I don't want to use MSI afterburner as it do cause other problems.
Can easily undervolt from 1.2v to 1.1v to decrease temperature dramatically on my card... The factory voltage is absurd...

You can edit the BIOS and lower the clock speed. Is it ASUS 280x?
What kind of problem you get using MSI AB?
I hope you disable Window 10 Fast Startup because that thing bring more problem than benefit.
Try reboot your PC everyday if you enabled Fast Startup.

It's Sapphire Tri-X? Edit BIOS?

MSI afterburner is known to mess with AMD Driver's settings and profiles, restart PC and the AMD driver's global profile got reset to default again, that's one problem.
Path of Exile also have issue with it's overlay function (or any sort of overlay tool) and cause crashes, not exactly Afterburner's fault in this case, but it's additional tool Rivatuner.
Adjusting OC with Afterburner sometime also causing somesort of driver conflict > system crash when playing game and playing video at the same time. Basically not that great for multitasking.
I just uninstall it to reduce the headache.

Don't think I using Fast Startup. Think I shut it down before, now I don't see it in the power option page where it suppose to be anymore.

actually, amd have a lot of oc headroom because they ship everything with ridiculously high voltage.
rx590 goes to 1650MHz.
my rx570 goes to 1450MHz, probably more. this is from 1270MHz max boost. brows.gif

I did the upgrade from 980ti to vega56, and its not 'slightly' as I thought it will be. For gameworks title it might, but most other game vega56 is better. 1.3k for vega56 is ridiculous if you look at rx590 is selling above that.

Yeah, modified the BIOS so you card have lower clock speed. Too bad your card dual BIOS switch is between Legacy vs Uefi instead of Boost vs Non-Boost like my old Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X which actually artifacting when i use the Boost BIOS.

Hmm, I don't have any overlay issue with POE. hmm.gif

If i recall correctly, Afterburner start having compatibility issue ever since AMD introduce Wattman into Radeon Setting. Unwinder is not please with support from AMD so there probably won't be any fix for it.

What i mean by slightly is that i don't consider 1080 as an upgrade path, Vega 56 performance fall around that so it's more of a sidegrade to me.
You don't really need Gameworks to make 980 Ti perform near Vega 56, any single threaded heavy games is enough to cripple Vega 56 to near 980 Ti level. Good thing the industry is starting to make better multi-threaded games ever since Ryzen and Vulkan/DX12 is around.

Of course Vega 56 is better overall but it's not enough performance to warrant an upgrade compare to my overclocked 980 Ti, although since now Turing is out there, optimization support for Maxwell will probably lag behind.

I found several 1080 for 1.5k and 1080 Ti for 2k. Vega 56 for 1.3k is not too low imo, at least not from buyer perspective.

Any single threaded game must be old and should run flawlessly on these cards anyway so why bother laugh.gif

You cant compare to nvidia card prices like that because they have newer faster new gen cards while AMD dont.
