Hi all,

I have some inquiries regarding both cases. I am actually planning to change my case from the old CoolerMaster Stacker 830 to either one of the mentioned case. I read both reviews and I have split decision on both. And of course Mastercase 5 is cheaper than Evolv ATX.

The Mastercase does come with 2x 5.25" bay but I dont really need the bay since I dont have any 5.25" drives to use. Whilst the Evolv ATX does look aesthetically nicer LOL! The mastercase is modular but i am not sure if I will be needing to upgrade my system to accommodate that and I have never seen the Evolv ATX physically before so I am not sure if the quality of the build is worth the extra.

Is it worth paying the extra for the Evolv ATX or just go with Mastercase? Let me know your view guys.

Thanks!

I love the Phanteks Evolv ATX due to the materials use and build quality. The tempered glass version looks especially sexy but it is also a hassle to have fragile component on such a huge case.

The CM Mastercase looks decent and is solidly built, but aesthetic and quality wise, I feel that the Evolv ATX wins by a huge margin.

I probably will not get the tempered glass version. I am afraid I might break them lol.

I know right? It looks sexy as hell, but being super clumsy myself, I think I will break them really fast as well tongue.gif

Go with the normal version then biggrin.gif

The internals are the same? Just the difference is the side panels?

Internal looks the same to me. But keep in mind that both panels are tempered glass. So make sure your cable management skills are good enough to make the right side look pretty as well.

Anyway, another thing just came into mind - do be aware that the front panel connectors are somewhat lacking for the Evolv - only 2 USB 3.0 and headphone/mic jack.

There's no HDMI and USB Type C. With the Mastercase, you might be able to purchase new front panel connector modules if you need HDMI in front for VR or USB Type C in the future.
That is what Cooler Master is positioning the Mastercase series to be - upgradeable if needed.
