Picked one up last week to replace my 6230i. Battery life isn't that great, bear in mind its the same battery used originally in the 6100. Definitely need to charge it after each day as it won't make it through 2 days.

As mentioned by the thread starter, battery cover is metal and I have some reservations as to how long it may last. My last experience with a metal back cover was with the 8855 and after some time it would get loose as the metal sides wear out.

Speakerphone is a bit weaker than the 6230. On the 6230, the speakers are front and side whereas on the 6300 the speakers are front and rear. With the speakerphone activated, sound will come out from the rear so you have to flip the phone over in order to hear clearly.

Screen protectors are available for this phone. Picked one up for rm24(I think I overpaid) at Low Yat.

As mentioned by others already, the build quality and design plus a reasonable price(rm1050-1080)is what makes this phone attractive.

design wise and de feel on de palm is good... but if given a choice between n6233 and this n6300... which whud u all go for??

The keypad on the 6300 is a bit tiny. I find that I need to use my nails sometimes to press the keys. I would guess the 6233 has a bigger and therefore better keypad for sms'ing

it blinks to notify you of missed calls or sms received.

It blinks more frequently for missed calls. For sms, it blinks less often maybe once every 10 to 15 seconds. I didn't time it so I could be wrong.

I doubt it. With that usage it may only last 1.5 days

Can't you change the setting for visual notification?
*
I don't think so. Couldn't find anything in the manual or menu. As for the rear cover getting scratched it doesn't bother me. My only concern if it becomes loose over time like my old 8855.

i juz bought it 2 days ago and i just started activating my GPRS and stuff but i still cant seem to work it.they asked me to subscribe to Packet Data first.does anyone know what's that?
*
Mine had the gprs settings pre-installed, what about yours? Maybe you should call your telco and have them send to you via sms the gprs settings. Or try a friends sim card that has gprs activated and see what happens.

I did have this problem once but it "cured" itself after one day. Called maxis to see if there was a problem with their gprs network but they said it was fine.

I just got this phone but somehow I can't seem to use Nokia PC Suite to retrieve my contacts from my phone to my PC.

Using bluetooth, anyway to backup my contacts to my PC?
*
I think the only way to backup your contacts is through the pc suite.

This phone is S40 right? Which version of S40?

How many sms can be stored in this phone?
*
according to this site, its version 3 feature pack 2
http://www.mobile-review.com/review/nokia-6300-en.shtml

Don't know about sms, I always delete mine. If i were to guess it would be 100 for each category.
