Hi all, as per title, which monitor is better in terms of:
1. color accuracy
2. build quality
3. price
I'm using this mainly for photography so color accuracy is very important to me.

i'm using the Dell 27 one.
So far i am quite satisfied with the color accuracy. But that is me, to others it might be subjective. Had it since last year already. |

Dell S series colour accuracy & visual wise is very strong.
I remember a retail sales person telling me its made of clear glass panel or something. I did get the 23" , pretty good.. Very very thin bezel.. Only cons: Random flickering from time to time. |

I have mixed experience with both Dell and LG monitors.
My 27inch Dell monitor is displaying one "almost" dead pixel in the middle after 2-3 years usage. My dad's LG monitor has entirely failed after 3 years of usage (can no longer switch it on) and its warranty has expired as well. |

i'm pretty sure if you want the best color accuracy on dell, you should be looking up at their Ultrasharp series.
i'm using the LG 29UM57 (which is pretty much the same except mine doesn't have the speakers and freesync support). based on specsheet, it says it has 99% sRGB and they do come with factory calibrated result sheet on my daily usage experience, i so so so love the ultrawide panel. it just gives so much more for productivity. i've used the well respected dell u2312hm and i've gotta say, i love this LG much more. i use lightroom to edit my photos and with the extra screen resolution, i could really use the before and after comparison function without limiting my viewing area. not that it's not the size of the screen that matters, it's the resolution. the only gripe i have with this monitor is that the screen can't rotate, tilt or raised/lowered. so i had to put something to lift the screen up to my eye level. if you have a monitor arm/stand, you could use that too. P.S : sorry if my answer isn't well structured |

QUOTE(kyLL @ Dec 6 2016, 08:02 AM) oh shoot. forgot to mention that while the extra 940px over the normal 1920px of FHD monitors, a dual FHD monitor setups still trumps over a single UW monitor (cause 1920+1920 vs 1920+940). the only downside of this setup is the annoying bezel in the middle. so it's up to you which you see is a much better option (of course, the dual monitor setup can cost more if you go with a more expensive monitor like the Ultrasharp series)oh yeah, more personal experience : if it comes to after sales service, dell is pretty legendary around here. last time my U2312HM broke, called up RMA and the replacement came in the next day lol. can't say the same about LG though. someone needs to chime in for that This post has been edited by graphidz: Dec 6 2016, 11:49 PM |
