QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 17 2018, 12:16 AM) But it has no benefits. i have other SCB card, the cashback platinum. but it has annual fee. but i dun really use it nowadays since Maybank cards can cover.Well, if you just want an AF free card, then that's a separate story. I was offered the same too when I was upgraded to Premium Banking but I rejected because I have other SCB cards which are more useful. just hold it to keep the credit limit of SCB in case one day I cannot get the annual fee waive for the cashback platinum. (although till now no incidents that the annual fee cannot be waived yet). I did the same to my OCBC card also I got the titanium (no annual fee) as spare in case the 365 cannot be waived. Again a bank who gives high credit limit. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 17 2018, 10:53 AM) Cash Back Plat? Did you mean JustOne Plat or Cash Back Gold? Cashback Gold. Only when I have enough rm1k retail expenses + rm500 (other non qualifying expenses) or rm1500 retail expenses then I will use this card.I converted my OCBC Ti to GE Plat but after they revised the benefits, I have cancelled it as well. Though they gave me quite good CL too. Else both the Maybank 2 Card Amex + Maybank FC Barcelona Visa Signature Card are enough for my monthly expenses. I applied the OCBC titanium just to keep the credit limit. I almost cannot get the 365 card annual fee waived in 2017. Eventually it is waived though. But i dun think it can be waived in 2018. OCBC credit limit is high so I want to keep it. It is good to only own 3 banks credit card for not hurting the credit records. So I would prefer to keep 3 banks cards only. for the SCB cashback, the cashback shown in the current statement, is the cashback for the spending in the current statement and not the previous month one rite?

QUOTE(RokXIII @ May 25 2018, 10:33 PM) effective from 1 August 2018, the annual fee will only be waived with min spend of RM20,000 per year for some of their cards.. so i guess the previous practice (call & request for waive) might not be working anymore.. QUOTE(SzeMeng76 @ May 25 2018, 10:51 PM) Still working. Just the 20k spending will be auto waived. yup, i think not an issue. can easily waive by calling them.My another card not reach 20k spending, after live chat waived in 1 day only. anyway, i had applied the visa platinum card (with no annual fee), so if worst case cannot be waived, i just need to cancel the cashback mastercard. QUOTE(fruitie @ May 26 2018, 02:02 AM) My spending is not much. So I will cross my fingers and toes though my sister hasn't been paying any AF (not charged at all despite very low spending since 2011 I think). I'm more concerned for my SCB WorldMiles, I kinda hope to continue keeping this card. my usage for the cashback card is not high also. only if got big spending of the day, i use the card, else i actually use only maybank one since both the amex 2 card and fcb is more than enough to cover all my expenses.but so far my experience with waiving annual fee is quite easy. only ocbc (i applied the titanium card with no annual fee to keep my ocbc credit limit on top of the 365 because the annual fee for 365 is not easy to waive although last year i am lucky that i managed to waive it) This post has been edited by westlife: May 26 2018, 07:18 AM |

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Aug 12 2018, 07:04 AM) Panicked when I saw someone else's post about strict 20k yes, i need to cancel one of my SCB card soon. do not want to pay so many rm25.Super scared of AF now especially since I can't avoid the RM25 SST cost of owning each CC. Starting to cancel cards, but definitely keeping both my SCB. |
