Does SC still offer WAVER/REBATE of SST upon receiving card cancellation request these days?

The “cancellation request trick” used to work by having their card retention team called to offer a rebate of SST for X sweep within X weeks, but not sure about the condition now.

Just worried that SC straight away process and proceed with the card cancellation request without offering and retention candy
