The lastest statement(21/5) balance for my Liverpool cc is rm230 inclusive of sst&AF of rm200.
I managed to get waiver for sst&AF, so come due date 10/6 do I still need to pay the statement balance of rm230 or just the rm30?
*
It's safer to call and ask them (better still, open a case so that you have records) because unlike other banks, Std Charted won't give any waiver once you're late paying and also start charging interest to your current balance.

I always use 360 redemption to offset payment due, no interest. I never use Refunds as payments although they're posted as separate transactions. Don't know if Rebates are treated as Refunds, but common sense say they're different.

Contacted the SC Chat via the Mobile App to get RM25 rebate (for Card Service Tax)
Initially, it seems no more waiver unless I take up their installment plan at x.xx%

dont forget the Annual Fee that costs way more than GST

Request SST waiver failed.

You're supposed to ask for sponsorship, failing which you irrevocably terminate the card

All these talk of non-waiver SST / Annual Fee really making me anxious for my next cycle haha.
If they waive my SST / AF for SimplyCash then i will keep it.
Or not i might as well just cut in @ October.

Do anyone ask for Annual Fee waiver BEFORE It is charged ?
Worried that once charge u still need to pay for it....
*
Before they added the feature for you to request AF waiver, yes i've done it many times.

After that feature, got trapped because you're supposed to wait for AF to be billed before you can request waiver. Once billed, you won't be able to request terminate card because there is a balance that you need to clear. By then, you'll be offered 50%.

So make sure you don't spend after GST/AF is billed. Then you can at least call them to reverse the charge to terminate the card.

u got try call for rebate or waive?
after being bill or not bill?
i see got charge now, the bill statement is 29th Aug2024.

When I tried last year, it also said not eligible. Maybe high profile people only automagic eligible. Doesn't matter before or after statement because everything is computerized. As long as the GST entry is present, you get the option to request sponsorship.

If there is service tax charge RM25 on the account on July and no other transaction on that day onwards, can I cancel the card without paying the tax and interest? Just noticed that the card now incurred interest from that RM25 tax (RM3.45)
*
Cancelling the card without $25 yes but interest not sure. Most people already settled GST (either by paying or cancelling card) before the next statement. You can try negotiate with them.

Either you open case (I think under Services or something like that) or call.

I'm confused with when I shall spend with the SimplyCash card to max out the cashback.
I know I need to spend RM2500 a month. And my statement date is 10th. Do I need to meet the spending requirement from. 1st to 30th or 11th to 10th?
*
1st to 30th. Each bank different rule.

Went for usual route to cancel card for GST sponsorship with GST already billed. Instead of reversing GST, they paid on my behalf and cancelled the card with no calls from retention.

There's a 30 days grace period to reinstate the card, probably not going to do it since Annual Fee comes next.

You guys who pay on due date but kena classified as late, do you transfer from other bank?

I usually instant transfer to my SC Jumpstart account then just pay to card from that directly. Have been doing this for years no issue so far. Or I guess u guys don't have normal SC bank acc?

I just remembered sc jumpstart cashback already nerfed n is shit now... maybe I will close mine soon.
*
What time you pay leh?

I also pay on due date from other banks and no late interest. But i didn't pay as late as them, usually by 7pm.

News is out that the Priority Banking VI card will be discontinued and cancelled after 10 March 2025.

Anyone received updates on what’s gonna happen (e.g. changing to a new card)?

The notice mentioned to check the registered email but I have not received any emails thus far.
*
https://ringgitplus.com/en/blog/credit-card...redit-card.html

Based on Singapore, only the non-Priority Banking will be cancelled.

You can see that EOL'd cards like Liverpool, Smart, VI no longer available for application : https://www.sc.com/my/credit-cards/compare/...id=p-p-compare/

Full refund of the RM250 AF which appeared in February/Mar statement along with the separate case of missing Nov & Dec cashback.

Card cancellation scheduled to complete in a few days time.

*no calls from SCB
*
They also paid my GST before cancelling the card. No usage after GST was billed. No calls. I didn't bother to reinstate because Annual Fee comes next and i dont want to go through the process again.

i think everyone get trapped by offer by Ringgit Plus... they give you RM800-1k when apply but will take back from annual fee as they not going to waive you..
my wife using it but apply tru normal banking process and get 100% waive.. but mine cant waive.. even my friend also get caught with the same issue ...
*
You and your friend not experienced enough jeh. What 高手s do is take the $800-1k and cancel card after that. Where got people keep until annual fee.

It's nothing to do with the sign up reward. If they catch you're stuck not able to cancel the card unlike many of us here, you lost your bargaining power.

Some people apply for the sign up reward and cancel immediately after that. Others cancel their card before GST/Annual Fee to bargain for GST sponsorship and Annual Fee waiver - if Std Charted wants to retain us, they will call and make that offer, otherwise they will cancel the card. This has been the case the past few years. Only highly valued customers get automagic GST sponsorship and annual fee waiver.

I still haven't used anything yet after AF is charged.
So if they insist want to charge me, i just said cancel the card?

You can open a support case from their system and request for waiver. Just make sure you get the card cancelled before the payment due date or you'll be billed late payment charges.
