asked the insurance agent, because requested to fill up the form if pay using card. since it is card-not-present method, recently have make make payment using card with other agent by using card also, but the agent capture the card details on the spot and only charged after few days, then received an email receipt with DDA (Direct Debit Authorization) payment method, so i wonder does it consider auto billing for the filling up form method?

OMG, it just came to my knowledge that Standard chartered interest calculation is different then all the other banks.... a totally ripoff calculation.

If you are late in your payment, your interest will be charge until your next billing cycle. Means, if you are late for 1 day... they will charge you interest for all the days until your next billing cycle. Not only for that 1 day late...

So late 1 day or 15 days = no difference...

QUOTE(avinlim @ Jun 25 2019, 05:51 PM)
How can it be? means they are charging Future interest once you have even RM10 outstanding balance?

AFAIK, you have RM1500 on your statement balance. when over due date you still have RM100 outstanding(Paid RM1500).

Your RM1500 spending will hit by interest from the transaction date till the date you pay off total RM1500.
*
normally they have grace period hmm.gif

But someone did explain in early post, i forgot how is it.

I did late 1~2 days paid before but didnt get interest expense.

Does SC JO have CB pool?

say i have 1 insurance autopay maybe charge end of month like 25/26 @RM 150,
so i topup 2350 to bigpay and i will get 30 + 22.50 correct?

and if i pump petrol 50 then will get full 60 cb ? (currently petrol under company petrol card, maybe pump for parents)
*
It's not like how UOB works :\

So, nope, no pool for CB and hopefully no in the future

Yea, but the whole information of JOP has been revamped to latest effective one

Like RM1,000 above of rebate changed to "RM700 above of rebate"
Max cap RM85 change to RM60

So all information should be legit one now

Based on latest revision of JO card cashback terms, does it mean if I reload RM200 TnG at petrol station, it will be considered under petrol? Cause I don't have auto billing to tie to this card, and petrol I have other credit card to cover.
*
Maybe can call CS and ask "reloading TnG at petrol station consider as Petrol expenses? "

Since it just effective yesterday, we wont know the result until next month sad.gif

Sorry i cant help yet

Thanks for replying. I believe since this is new, CS could be giving wrong or misleading answer.

If anyone did reload tng with this card before at petrol station and gotten cashback, then I believe the chance is high.

If I have to chance to visit petrol station that allow reload tng with CC, I will try by this month then next month we will know the result.

K.I.S.S.

You already spent RM2500 on Bigpay on 1/7-3/7, so RM30 CB confirmed.
From now on till 31/7 (but must be posted by 7/8), pump petrol up to RM200.
If you pump RM100 before 31/7 (posted by 7/8), you will get +RM15 CB.
If you pump RM200 before 31/7 (posted by 7/8), you will get +RM30 CB (max).
*
OK, now i'm blurred ...

Before 1st July, we just need to spend within month to get RM85 max once we hit RM2,500 (15%)

Right now, for July portion (August return), when is the period that we need to spend after having this CLAUSE 3:

QUOTE
. Transactions must be posted within the first week of the following month to be eligible for meeting the
minimum spend stated in Clause 1 above. Please note that transactions may be posted late by the
merchant. The Bank will not be held responsible for late posting

Does it mean that we need to spend before 8th July 2019?
And July portion actually only has 1 week utilisation ?

July RM60 = 1st July ~ 7th July
August RM60 = 8th July ~ 7th August
September RM60 = 8th August ~ 8th Sept

Please correct me if i'm wrong

Yes but SC didn't clearly define the cut-off date/day for first week of the following month.

Sounds like June portion (RM85) can till this end of week.

My autobilling for Insurance might kicks in between tomorrow till next monday so i was worried just now XD

No..wrong. You still transact before end of each month for that mth cb. What he means is, if you purchase on 30-31st of the month, and the merchant somehow only settle your bill more than 7 days. then you not eligible for cb for that spend.

To avoid these problems, avoid making purchase when close to cb cut off date...most card is end of every month.
*
Got one wrong is the month, i think i will amend it .

think this way.

if transaction is NOT POSTED, how would they (SCB) count?

so, scb is giving a cutoff timeline to begin calculate the cb.
posted transaction = final, settled transaction = if any refund/dispute, standard chargeback process applies (long process)

unposted transaction = not final = any dispute/refund/void can be triggered quickly without the long cycle.
*
Yea, just an extra buffer for us and them to calculate the cash back.

But they also no mention actual cut off period so from the clause i will think as by monthly which is "8th to 7th"

most just read 1 clause at a time.

scb updated 2 clauses that are both inter-related. they are more specific on when to calculate and how to treat cross-month posting.

// 2. CashBack will be calculated at the first week of the following month and will be credited your credit card account or any other account we designate within the 60 days after the end of the relevant transaction months.

3. Transactions must be posted within the first week of the following month to be eligible for meeting the minimum spend stated in Clause 1 above. Please note that transactions may be posted late by the merchant. The Bank will not be held responsible for late posting. //

*
Yes, the 3rd one confused me actually, which i will have a mindset of 30 days / 1 month provision only where as in this case like u guys explained - 30+ 7 days.
