hey.. im considering buying a second hand toyota vios..around year 2004..

is it advisable to do so? just say in terms of reliability(breakdowns etc.)

anyone has bad experience?

Well for now u can get a 2nd hand vios for around 50k++ for the 2003 E version while the G version can be get at 60k++ for a 2004 model onwards.

What i know is try to avoid the 1st batch, means 2003 models as they were problematic. Also beware of immobilizer problem which were found in the 2005 model.

Otherwise, the vios is a great car, with superb reliability, sufficient power, good FC, good looks as well. Just its small interior space, poor interior quality and lousy UMW service are its drawbacks.

My dad was also looking for a vios around the same age......
after serious consideration.... the selling price of second hand car was so high....
he decided to get a new one... cause the price was not much diff comparing to those secondhand and no of years used....
also new cars got discount......
Just his opinion though....probably you can consider this option...
New one no worries, be it accident, problem.......anything can rma...oops sorry....send for warranty of the car......

If the price is in the region of 50k, then it is a good buy provided the car is accident free

not worth to get 2nd hand vios. price too high. better get 2nd have City. Vios is for girls anyway.

Both City and Vios are universal lah! Not only meant for the girls only!

A bit OT here. Based on my observations, for females, normally young girls drive Vios. Aunties drive City

so u means city 2nd hand (resale value) is cheaper than vios?

vios alway d best.. n more better i u go for new 1... cas price errr lebih kurang je... n u will more satisfit due new 1........

Not only Kia and Hyundai, most of the 2nd hand cars are really cheap nowaday.

for 50k region..u can get 2nd hand Alfa Romeo 156..
but maintenance wise..is another story altogether..

well...not to worry, Vios is a reliable car.
Just that the interior may not be up to par with the amount of $$

in malaysia, cannot say if the car price is high means that 1 is good car...
