QUOTE(jimmyteng18 @ Jun 18 2019, 04:04 PM) Bro 6UEST, I'm with V12Evo2 size of 215/45/R17 in Ford Focus. Initial expression that the tyre side wall is soft and at current pressure of 35psi. Can I still increase the pressure? You can increase 1 or 2 more psi to give it a try, but v12evo2 inherently has soft side walls, no additional sidewall reinforcement. Maybe that's why price so damn good. Go for falken fk510 on your next change which is a very slight premium (for now) japan made tyres against the v12evo2 but with reinforced sidewalls.

QUOTE(Jonsnow68 @ Jun 20 2019, 12:48 AM) Actually, what's the recommended tyre pressure for 195/55/15? Some shops pump 33 psi, some 32. And, higher psi or lower psi gives better grip? always start with the baseline set by manufacturer recommendation, after all, they spent many millions on every aspect of the car engineering, so assume they know best when coming out with this set of tyre pressure numbers. After that you try +/- the pressure to your taste. Personally, i pump close to the maximum recommended pressure range (full load). Got a very little bit of extra fuel economy on higher pressures.

QUOTE(Jonsnow68 @ Jun 21 2019, 01:51 PM) The baseline set manufacturer was for 14 inch. I upsized to 15 inch now that's why a little confused haha. Wouldn't the ride be harder and less grippy if you pump to the max recommended pressure range? Usually when upsize, the recommended air pressure drops abit, but again, the car owner/driver needs to eperiment. Just my preference for that, but i'm clear that once past the maximum recommended pressure, the car is really thrashy. When go to the lower end of the recommended range, my wife says the car a bit "loose". She lagi hebat....

QUOTE(jimmyteng18 @ Jun 22 2019, 12:46 PM) I was quoted the Falken fk510 rm430 per pc for 215/45/R17 and out of my budget. Next change will consider. Orang lain sell cheaper : https://www.mudah.my/225+45+17+FALKEN+AZENI...RU-75117345.htmQUOTE(kurty @ Jun 24 2019, 11:47 AM) how do we know the tyre is softer or harder sidewall? will there be any indicator on the tyre? No indicator, either ; 1) ask around tyre forums, some sifus will tell you whether reinforced or not. 2) totally unscietific, but go tekan the tyre

QUOTE(ralfvi @ Jul 24 2019, 02:21 PM) to note for this hankook it is as everyone mention if your car has less sound dampers for tyres its really ROARS. before this was using ps4. and i think easily 30-50% much loud noise coming from these. cant comment much on wet or dry as my electric power steering car has muted all the feel and ive drove only for about 100km with it. will update more once ive done some long winding road with it. odd, had better refinement on my car with v12evo2 than the factory fitted toyo t1. I initially don't expect any refinement improvement because it is symmetrical pattern, but it performed better refinement wise compared to the asymmetrical patterned toyo t1.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Jul 25 2019, 06:58 PM) You mean directional pattern? Anyway Toyo tires are overpriced/overrated in general. Never seen Toyo wins or finish near the top of any comparison tests at all. left half and right half pattern mirror image, this one called directional pattern? I thought this called symmetrical thread pattern?

QUOTE(WinterAngeLs @ Nov 6 2019, 11:34 AM) Noticed the chipping circled in red. No sure whether is caused by uneven road or tyre compound too soft?? you guys faced this? Mine not exactly chipping, but can see added wear on the points you circled. Maybe because you corner very kuat Or maybe because your area road surface not fantastic? From your pictures, my gut feeling is about right that this tyres max life is about 50000km. Seems like you're going for tyre shopping around chinese new year next year

QUOTE(budang @ Nov 18 2019, 04:46 PM) But under tyrereview it's still under premium touring category. If CPC is upgraded to compete against PS4, where does CSC stand? now you tell me about their extreme contact series? continental too invested in marketing/branding one up manship that it is starting to get confusing....
