Just wondering.... would any GSD fans here like to adopt an adult male GSD? Gotta be the only dog and is quite dominant.

This GSD very sad case... he was actually dumped out of his home to die in the streets.... but my friend Nicki saved him from death by spending 3 months caring for the dog. Hmmm... I wonder I got the pic or not... must check.
Anyway, he is not very young... can say maybe 4 years old... after Nicki brought him back to health, a guy from johor adopted him, was love at 1st sight for both dog and man.... they lived happily till now... the man has to move and cannot bring the dog along. He got no heart to let the dog go on living on the streets... so he wants someone kind to adopt this poor GSD. |

QUOTE(Lefty @ Feb 13 2007, 03:44 PM) but the dog already adult. i scare it cannot be trained. and it will only listen to its previous owner. just my point of view. better send to SPCA. Why SPCA? Do you know SPCA will kill the dog? Do not ever say they will listen to previous owner as well trained dogs can listen to their new owners in due time. I think you need to do research on Malaysia's SPCA.... you got little knowledge on them. You also got little knowledge on dogs... do you know most trained GSD, Rottweiler and dobermanns are still sold as adults. Also, many send their own puppies to private trainers for many months to train... if they only listen to the trainer, then I think the owners waste their money. |

QUOTE(Lefty @ Feb 14 2007, 12:55 AM) likw this ho . now i learn something. thx for that. but damn scare see all those GSD that is adult and not close with me. they very huge even my neigbour 1 also i care to go near look like very aggressive. Hahaha... yah, adults are scary but then when well trained, they make very good dogs. Maybe your neighbour never socialize and train his dog properly lah, that is why aggressive. A few neighbours of mine keep GSD, all very good dogs, never bark at me when I pass by their houses but I think if I enter without the owners concent, sure die liao. |

Hmmm.... I cannot cause I already got 3 dogs, maximum dogs to have is 2 only and my taman is dominated by Malay neighbours. Do I want to get into trouble with DBKL and cause of 1 extra dog then later must get rid of all? No, I do not want to risk my dogs lives.

QUOTE(TY_AA @ Feb 14 2007, 06:27 PM) My dog is extremely aggressive to outsiders as well, you can blame it on him not being professionally trained. But once he sees his owner not minding the outsider being in the house, and realised he/she is a "good guy" he stops barking and is all good, smart dog. Normally when the owner does not mind about the outsider, then the dog will be calmer... My dogs are like that too. Imagine... it's a labrador that barks at outsiders hahahah.... but when we treat the outsider in a friendly manner, she becomes a doll and tries to get pats from everyone. |

Why wait for petshops? There are so many breeders that you can contact, much much better than a petshop. Just call up MKA and get a list of contacts lah.
Normally a petshop would get from a puppymill or a cheap homebreeder, get the pup for RM800 or RM900 and resell them at Rm1500... so you want them to earn so much by getting you a pup that you have no idea if it has good temperament or good health? |

Malaysian Kennel Association.... they will give you a long list, so you will have to call and check. Make sure they are only selling german shepherd coz some will sell a few types of dogs, normally this are puppymillers or homebreeders that seek more income in breeding lots of dogs. So ask alot of questions and if the breeder got patience to answer then he or she is ok....
