anyone knows where can i get prong collars?

many thanks..

You can try Sea Park Pet Shop in SS2. But depends how often you use your prong collar. I find the local ones not as good and bend very easily compared to Herm Sprenger ( German) ones.

All the best smile.gif

Hey Ah_Chuan,

Thanks for the comment. He works well on the field and is a wonderful family dog. Not sure if he can be considered macho but he is definitely smart. He has got my whole family wrapped around his paw and is spoilt rotten. Haha.
Well, Axel is beginning to show the white muzzle fur if that's what you mean by looking old?

Haha. I love Sables smile.gif

QUOTE(sirisaac @ Oct 24 2009, 12:15 PM)
to be more exact the boot can only fit ONE size 500 crate and that is with lowering the second row seat down because it is blocking a little. i used to own a 2003 crv and it is a better fit but only can fit one crate. i have 2 crate one size 500 and one more size 600. so i ended up taking one apart if i am travelling with both dogs. a nissan livina or toyota wish might be able to do that. anyone?
*
My friend produces crates which can fit at the back of a hilux, triton, ranger and most MPV's side by side smile.gif Some of the imported crates ( I've seen a couple from EU, can't rmbr the brand) can fit side by side too.
As for me, I drive a renault scenic and can fit 2 pet cargo 700's http://www.hagen.com/uk/dogs/addinfo/petcargo_line.cfm with the seats removed.

As long the seat fold flat/removable, u've got tonnes of space!

I think the V70 needs customized crates. I'm not sure. The ones I've seen are either cusotmized or the dog crates are smaller.

If I remember correctly, I think the X-trail's seats fold flat into the floor ( Don't take my word for it...it was quite some time ago). Big advantage there.

Hi Mr. Issac Yan from JB,

Will you be participating in the seminar? It's a great opportunity since it is just round the corner and need not travel out of state. Rinus is the Belgian WUSV team captain as well as a FCI judge. Eric is his helper and has competed many times in the Belgium nationals. They have a great deal of knowledge and have no qualms about sharing what they know.

Hi Jesstin,

Are you local to JB or from out of state? Accommodation can be arranged for you and your K9 ( plus your team) if required smile.gif

Anyone else interested? icon_rolleyes.gif
It's a chance to learn and improve you and your dog in this sport. smile.gif

Old post...but just a tiny mis-wording.

Only the BSP is held in Germany every year..it's is equivalent to the german nationals for SchH/VPG.

The WUSV= World championship is held in different countries every year..for rotation smile.gif

Hi RealDreamer,

Do u really think the conman aka sirisaac knows anything about WUSV?  He is more interested in money than about the dog.

Anyway u are really good in digging up his bullshit.  See u in the seminar.
*
Hi Jesstin,

It was not my intention to look up "bullshit" but to simply educate ppl who are reading this thread.

I'm not sure if he knows anything about the WUSV but likewise, I do not know much about the BZSZ or the LGZS

Hello,

I did check on the seminar but is your schedule out yet? for example like what time to what time is the lesson and on what day they are focusing on what. it will be very hard for me to take 1 week leave. my boss will surely kill me and maybe roast me after that. lol. i will ponteng work and come for the lesson that interest. is that ok? or this seminar, you need to learn from start to finish. dont get me wrong here, but not easy to take leave expecially middle of the year ( semi annual appraisal) Ok la, i go to the website and see if more infos is out.

Thanks
*
Hi Isaac,

As far as I know ( best to confirm with the JWDC admin), the training session are in the evenings. Each day is focused on training & problem solving of the dogs.

Eg. If someone's dog cannot heel attentively, then the owner & k9 team will be taught how to with the assistance of Eric & Rinus using their methods

Eg. If the dog cannot retrieve fast and sit correctly, Eric & Rinus will help out

Eg. If the send out is not fast and the down is slow, Eric & Rinus will help out and teach the handler/k9 how to overcome that type of problem.

Eg. If the long bite is not fast & hard enough, then how do you improve on that?

Eg. If the dog is out of control & dirty, how do you solve that without the grip & power suffering?

Also there will be a pupy there, with VERY basic training so it will also be good to watch & learn how the puppy is taught through their methods so you can also learn how to bring up a puppy.

The idea is to learn how Eric & Rinus solve problems and/or further improve and/or teach the dog & handler team presented to them. There are MANY methods out there so this is just one opportunity to learn how the Belgium team does it.

As this is a practical seminar, the sessions are very much dependant on the dogs and handlers on the field.

If you have any questions at all, feel free to drop JWDC an email biggrin.gif I'm sure they will get back to you.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of "lesson" would interest you? smile.gif

RD,

i think you are right on that breed. cute little bugger , i tell you. look like a long coat basset hound. it is my first time seeing this breed. i dont think we  have this in our showring. as for what really interest me, everything interest me. the stuff that i would like to learn is retriving as i dont seem to get that infos in internet. heeling and bitework , i have some printout. i think i heard from george that the seminar is full day. if evening time then it is superb.

wp,

the angulation is a bit steep in that stacking. cause the croup is short so it look this way. overall a nice dog but i prefer a more masculine head at that age..but this is a winning gsd in sg. german import. that guy holding the dog is Billy Aw. A senior in gsd here in msia and sg.
*
Hey Isaac,

I have a little bit of intrest in that breed...sparked by my own dog which looks similar hahaha. They are rather cute looking fellas.

If u bring your male dog along everything will be exposed.  Mr. Rinus will eat up your dog on the first day of the seminar.  So better let the softie stay at home.
*
Hi Jesstin,

Please do not misrepresent Mr. Rinus. His objective of the seminar is to improve and work with the dogs at the seminar; not "eat" them. He's a very methodical and practical trainer, applying different techniques to different dogs. No one benefits nor learns anything from "eating" anyone up.

If you have something against Isaac, that is your issue with him. Take it somewhere else.

Please do not misuse the reputation of someone else for your personal vendettas.

Well said but with people like yan tze ming in the club I seriously doubt they intentions.

Added on May 6, 2010, 11:42 pm
We have no intention of misrepresent Mr. Rinus. Rinus indeed is a very good trainer. We have been to his seminar before and seen his method of training.  Surely Mr. Rinus is here not to train a dog to sit, stand and down.  Rinus training is more toward the schutzhund methods  and isaac yan tze ming knows very well that his dog won't be able to take it.
*
Hi Jesstin,

If you have seen Rinus train, then you are well aware that he can be a very hard trainer when needs be; only when necessary. If you have a dog who is weak ( I'm not saying that he does, but as an example) , then the objective would be to train this dog with a different method in order to achieve what the owner is happy with.

There is no point mis-matching training methods to the wrong dog. That is not what he does.

I do not know Isaac, nor his dog but I have an idea how Rinus trains.

Please do not discourage those who have intentions of participating in a seminar where they can benefit as there is alot to learn.

Good to see things are moving smile.gif

I recently help put a KKL on a dog and it was good fun. It was a learning experience to go through the ankuering/koerung.

Anyway, I thought I'd share some pics from the Belgian Nationals 2010 biggrin.gif

Thanks a lot. The thing is that the working lines in Malaysia tend to me either Black or sable which isn't my cup of tea either.
*
Hey ararshirott,

There are many black & tan working line dogs.
Eg. : http://www.daelenberghutte.be/ferra.htm

Here are some working line studs who are black & tan too :
http://www.kennelvanhildernisse.nl/DekreuZwartBruin.htm

The colour will vary, especially in working lines as colour is the least of the breeder's worries smile.gif

Oh yea, do take into account that the "straight" or "curve" appearance is also influenced by the way the dog is stacked.
Most working lines have a straight back but it goes straight to a lower point at the tail..this is due to the stacking where the back leg is pulled back/stretched back.

In the pictures I attached, they are the same dog. Natural standing VS being stacked (in the process of, haha). She's alot darker in real life. The photo is overexposed.

QUOTE(PonZi @ Nov 11 2010, 01:40 PM)
Hi, im a newbie here but have been following this thread for quite some time and… finally got myself a GSD !! She’s 3mths ++ old now… hyper active, extremely playful and growing pretty fast too!

I shared the same dilemma as Pacifico when I first brought my dog home. But now, she’s doing okay with her kibbles after experimenting different brands like Science Plan and Eukanuba, now her stool looks okay and I switched to Natural Balance (salmon) and sometimes I mix it with Orijen.

I send her for training (currently on her second class) after her 3rd vac…. Well, it’s more like a “socialising” class with other dogs for her cos whenever I bring her out for a walk, she’ll dash forward and barks at other dogs, like as though she have never seen any dogs before! I taught her the basic stuffs like sit, down, stay, wait and heel before I send her for training. Sadly to say, she obeys all the commands at home but not when she’s outside with her other dog friends! Aiks, malu lerrr…. Lolz! I guess she’s too distracted.  doh.gif

Btw, Pacifico, you bought your dog from the Klang trainer? Cos looking at the 2nd pic, I vividly can recall that I have seen that place before…  hmm.gif

To all the sifus here… I do notice that the ingredients in some kibbles are made from corn/maize… is this ingredients harmful to dogs? Why brands like Acana and Orijen are “corn free” and the price as compared to other brands are relatively more expensive? Pls advise  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif
*
Congrats on your new pup smile.gif
It's always fun and exciting with a new family member.

Generally, dogs tend to have an allergic reaction to corn/maize. It's also a cheap filler.

Hope that helps.
