I was having dell inspiron 15 gaming laptop in mind, but I want to take i7 instead of i5. Is it still worth pursuing even at the price of 4.5k?? Besides, my friend said that the renew dell inspiron is still 960m. Maybe doesn't worth it.how to justify that??

If you're only going to do gaming on the laptop, the i5 in the Inspiron is more than enough for you. The performance increase from the i5 to i7 is near negligible and most benchmarks show at most a 2 to 5 fps difference.

If you do things like photoshop, video/image editing and some processor heavy work on the laptop, the i7 is more suitable for that.

I think you should worry more about the 960M though. Even if you future proof your processor, the GPU is quickly becoming obsolete.

If u dota 2 only.. then gt 920m oso can de...u should wait for new 7566 wif DDR 4ram.

I use Intel hd 515 n core m on my ultrabook to play...50fps on low...

i5 wif 960m can play high de... Dota not graphic intense game la...

What game you gonna play now, later or in future? Will you be doing something in this laptop? Could you wait for a better one? We need to know more about this before we can say anything.

920 can play liao...low lo... sometimes we gatai wan to play outside ma.. low oso accept lo... If set to high or ultra, no 21 inch no mood..

I just want best buck for money. And some bragging rights like other Apple fan having the latest model.

If you get the latest Dell, no one will even think twice once they see the Dell logo. Or HP or Lenovo or Asus or MSI or etc etc.

980m to dota 2 on 2560x1440 very high settings. and the fan howls.
