There are few things that you have to take into consideration

1) big firm or small firm? Usually newly admitted lawyer get roughly around 3k-3.5k for small or medium size firm and 5k for big firm like zico etc(usually with increment +- 500 each year) (subject to the location tho, salary quoted above is for kl/selangor)

2) being employed or running your own firm? i can only say a lawyer will never get rich if you're working for others unless you're a partner in equity which entitle you for profit sharing.

Rich lawyer v poor lawyer. Legal field is more on how well one can socialize and deal with their client and build a network there.

One can already goyang kaki in their 30s if they have some fixed client and ofcoz steady flow of developer's project smile.gif

I would say lawyers are generally really well paid, especially if you're a fresh grad. 3.5k to 5k straight outta college, how many other jobs are willing to pay you that kind of money?

Dont forget that freshly baked law student have to go through chambering for 9 months before admitted into the bar as lawyer...the pay is quite low .. 1.6-1.8k on average depends on the firm and location tho
